PV Connection
Disconnect the power cord from the Wattson 3000 IEC power socket to keep it completely switched off.
CAUTION:Before connecting to the PV modules, please install a separate DC circuit breaker between the
inverter and the PV modules.
NOTE 1: Please use a 600VDC/120A circuit breaker.
NOTE 2: The overvoltage category of the PV input is II.
WARNING: As this inverter is not isolated, only three types of PV modules are acceptable: monocrystalline,
class A polycrystalline and CIGS modules.
To avoid malfunction, do not connect PV modules that may leak current to the inverter. For example, earthed
PV modules will leak current to the inverter. When using CIGS modules, ensure that they are NOT earthed.
CAUTION: It is requested to use a PV junction box with overvoltage protection. Otherwise it will cause damage
to the inverter in the event of lightning strikes on the PV modules.
Please follow the steps below to connect the PV module:
Step 1: Check the input voltage of the PV modules. The PV modules selected must comply with the following
parameters.

Maximum PV generator open circuit voltage
PV generator MPPT voltage range
There are two methods of connecting the PV panels.
1.
Connect directly to the terminal block.
2.
Using a plug-in connector.
Direct connection to the terminal block
1.
Remove the PV connector cover by removing the screws as shown below.
2.
Install the cable gland on the connector cover.
3.
Attach the PV cables to the terminal.
Check the correct polarity of the connection of the wires from the PV modules and the PV input terminals.
Connect the positive (+) pole of the red connection wire to the positive (+) pole of the PV input terminal.
Connect the negative (-) pole of the black connecting wire to the negative (-) pole of the PV input terminal.
4.
Replace the cover on the rear panel.
