(for battery products)
The crossed-out bin means:
The batteries should not be thrown away with household waste.
Consumers should take them to an approved recycling point at a business or distribu-
tor, or run by a local area.
Batteries contain toxic substances and heavy metals that can harm the environment and
health.
Used batteries can be recycled; they contain precious metals like iron, zinc, manganese and
nickel.
IMPORTANT: for products that take batteries: there is a risk of fire or explosion if
the original batteries are replaced by incorrect batteries (example: Alkaline >
Lithium; AA(LR6) > AAA(LR03)).
Do not discard a battery in a fire or hot oven; do not crush a battery; do not cut a battery or
it could explode.
Do not keep a battery in a very high temperature environment or subject it to extremely low
air pressure which could trigger an explosion or the release of flammable liquid or gas.
- The battery must be removed from the device before the latter is discarded;
- The battery must be disposed of safely.
