For most kitchens, a certified hood rating of not less than
300 CFM is recommended. The range hood must be
installed according to instructions furnished with the hood.
5 Prior to installation

Carry out these steps to prepare your appliance for

5.1 Installing the anti-tip bracket
The range can tip forward, potentially causing injury and
damage, if the anti-tip bracket is not properly installed. Do
not operate the range without the anti-tip bracket in place.
WARNING
A child or adult can tip the range over and be killed.
Verify that the anti-tip bracket is securely installed.

Ensure the anti-tip bracket is engaged when the range
is moved.
WARNING
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
Use extreme caution when drilling holes into the wall or

floor as there may be concealed electrical wires.
Identify the electrical circuits that could be affected by
▶
the installation of the anti-tip bracket, then turn off
power to these circuits.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in
▶
electrical shock or other personal injury.
Note
¡ The hardware provided is for mounting through
standard thickness wood studs. The installer is
responsible for providing hardware for other types of
mounting situations.
¡ Contact a qualified installer or contractor to determine
the proper method for drilling holes through the wall or
floor material, such as ceramic tile, hardwood or other.
¡ The anti-tip bracket may be attached to a solid wood
surface having a minimum wall thickness of ¾"
(19 mm).
¡ The thickness of the wall or floor may require the use of
longer screws, available at your local hardware store.
¡ In all cases, at least two (2) of the anti-tip bracket
mounting screws must be fastened to a solid wood
surface.
¡ Use appropriate anchors when fastening the mounting
bracket to any material other than hardwood or metal.
Determine which mounting method to use: floor or wall.

If you have a stone or masonry floor, you can use the
wall mounting method. If you are installing the range in
a mobile home, you must secure the range to the floor.
Do not attempt to anchor into drywall.
Determine and mark the centerline A of the cutout

Position the mounting bracket against the wall in the

cutout so that the center of the cutout of the bracket is
13⅜" (34 cm) from the centerline A.
The mounting bracket can be installed on either the left-
hand or right-hand side of the centerline.
Drill two ⁵⁄₃₂" (4 mm) holes that correspond to the

bracket holes of the determined mounting method.
Mount the anti-tip bracket to the wall or floor with the

two (2) ³⁄₁₆" x 2" (4,8 x 50 mm) cross-head screws
provided.
Move range close enough to the opening to allow for

final electrical connections.
Remove the shipping base, cardboard or hardboard

from under the range.
Move the range into its final location. Make sure the

rear leveling leg slides into the anti-tip bracket.
5.2 Removing the oven door
WARNING
Failure to follow these instructions when removing the
oven door may lead to personal injury or product damage.
Make sure oven is cool and power to the oven has been

turned off before removing the door. Failure to do so
could result in electrical shock or burns.
