► Swing the trimmer back and forth carefully in a
controlled arc parallel to the ground.
► Move forward slowly, keeping two hands on
the trimmer at all times.
When trimming, a bump guard (1) limits the cut‐
ting range of the mowing line and helps prevent
unwanted damage to vegetation in certain cir‐
cumstances. Always remove the battery before
mounting or adjusting the bump guard.
Runtime and cutting performance depend on a
number of factors, including ambient tempera‐
tures, the type of grass being cut, the age and
condition of the integrated battery and the type of
cutting attachment being used.
When mounted with nylon trimmer line, runtime
is approximately half of the runtime available
when mounted with PolyCut 3-2 polymer blades.
To optimize runtime, STIHL recommends mount‐
ing polymer blades on your PolyCut 3-2 mowing
head.
For optimum performance, observe the recom‐
mended ambient temperature ranges,
Observe all applicable laws, regulations, stand‐
ards and ordinances.
STIHL recommends keeping nylon line or poly‐
mer blades in a water bath for at least 12 to 24
hours before use to increase their useful life.
