1 Blade scabbard
The blade scabbard protects against contact
with the cutting blades.
2 Catcher plate
The catcher plate is used to collect and
remove cuttings.

3 Cover
The cover is the placeholder for a Smart Con‐
nector 2 A.
4 Battery compartment
The battery compartment holds the battery.

The cover is part of the motor housing. Only remove the cover to install a Smart Connector 2 A and
store it safely for later re-installation. Always use the hedge trimmer with the cover or Smart Connector
2 A installed.

5 Locking lever
The locking lever holds the battery in the bat‐
tery compartment.
6 Control handle
The control handle is used to control, hold
and guide the hedge trimmer.
7 Screw plug
The screw plug closes the filler opening for
STIHL gear grease.
8 Handle
The handle is used to hold and guide the
hedge trimmer.
9 Control bar
Together with the trigger, the control bar
switches the hedge trimmer on and off.
10 Cutting blades
The cutting blades cut the material to be trim‐
med.

The tip guard protects the tip of the cutting
blades from contact with foreign objects.
12 LEDs
The LEDs indicate the selected power level.
13 Power setting button
The power setting button is used to select the
power level.
14 Trigger
Together with the control bar, the trigger
switches the hedge trimmer on and off.
15 Trigger lockout
The trigger lockout unlocks the trigger.

16 Battery
The battery supplies power to the hedge trim‐
mer.
17 LEDs
The LEDs indicate the state of charge of the
battery and any errors.
18 Button
The pushbutton activates the LEDs on the
battery. It activates and deactivates the Blue‐
tooth® interface (if available).
