42. Protective enclosure

The protective enclosure (1) is an extra safety
feature for the operator. Its large pane of a
special safety glass guarantees a clear view of
the rotating flask. A handle (2) on the front is
used for closing and opening. In both extreme
positions, it is held by a pneumatic strut.
Caution: Flask will not rotate unless the hood is
closed. Opening the enclosure during operation
will stop rotation.
Safety Cover LED (6) illuminates.
After closing the enclosure, rotation is restarted
by the Start Stop key.

43. Drive lock

picture on top.
The drive lock helps opening and closing the large coupling ring (3) holding the flask (4).
To engage lock: turn knob (8) CW until "lock" appears.
Manually rotate drive head, until lock snaps into place. Rotation Stop LED (6) on front panel
illuminates.
To release lock: turn knob (8) CCW until "unlock" appears.
Rotation Stop LED (6) on front panel dims.

44. Tightening of Evaporator Flask

Evaporator Flask must be sufficiently tightened with large coupling ring (X).
For this purpose the large coupling ring (X) is equipped with a torque indicator. As illustrated below
the coupling ring has to be tightened until the indicator point (Y) is aligned with point „1" (Z). This is
accompanied by a „click". For distillation without vacuum the ring has to be tightened until point (Y)
is aligned with point „2" (A).
If rule is not followed leakage can occur during operation.
