Connecting the inverter
Caution
a
If you do not fit a fuse in the positive cable, it could damage the
inverter and invalidate the guarantee.
➤ To set up the inverter, connect the red cable (fig. 1 4, page 3) to the
positive pole (+) of the vehicle battery and the black cable (fig. 1 5,
page 3) to the negative pole (–) of the vehicle battery.
Make sure the vehicle battery terminals are clean when connecting them.
Caution
e
Do not reverse the polarity. Reversing the polarity of the connec-
tions will cause a great spark and the internal fuses will melt. These
fuses should only be replaced by a qualified electrician.
7.3
Connecting external switches
Note
I
Connect the external switch to the inverter using a connection
cable with Western telephone jack. Observe the PIN configuration
on the plug for the connection cable.
➤ Cut the connection cable to size according to the wiring diagrams or have
the device connected up by a specialist.
– External switch, voltage supply from the inverter: fig. 4, page 5
– Control unit with relay or semiconductor circuit (TR): fig. 5, page 5
– External switch with voltage supply from the battery (BAT) of the
vehicle: fig. 6, page 5
– External switch with it own voltage supply (DC POWER) e.g. from the
ignition: fig. 7, page 5
➤ Connect the external switch with the connection cable on the remote port
(fig. 2 4, page 4).
