Do not try to open or alter the prosthesis.
Only qualified personnel approved by PROTEOR are authorized to carry
out maintenance operations.
Do not change the battery.
Do not use a battery other than the original.
Do not plug in anything else to the magnetic connector.
Only certified prosthetists are approved to modify the settings.
Any kind of overloading, excessive strain or excessive vibrations (e.g.: transport) should be
avoided This may cause a mechanical, hydraulic or electronic failure (see Alerts Table on the
last page).
Pay attention to the vibration and audible signals which indicate a danger of overheating. In
this case, stop any activity, to let the prosthesis cool down for a few moments.
The same alert may indicate that the temperature is too low (< -5°C): do around ten knee bends
before starting walking again.
Risk of falling. In case of doubt over the alert, look up the SYNSYS smartphone app.
Maximum measured prosthesis (pyramid) connector temperature: 45°C.
Prevent dirt and moisture from entering:
In case of contact with a liquid, wipe down the prosthesis with a clean cloth, and let
it dry.
Driving:
Have your fitness to drive tested by an approved authority.
You need to ensure that it is completely safe to drive when the
prosthesis is not operational.
Air travel:
Do not use a smartphone to connect to the prosthesis. SYNSYS
contains a 9.4Wh lithium battery.
According to current regulations, the prothesis can be carried in the
hold when it has been switched OFF (see §9.C). NB: the ON/OFF tool
is regarded as a sharp tool, i.e. not permitted in airplane cabins
Hydraulic unit overheating:
In case of excessive activity (e.g. going more than 4 floors
downstairs), the knee resistance may be altered.
There is a risk of burns from touching overheating components
.
(internal mechanics)
burns.
This risk is increased in case of exposure to direct sunlight (UV).
