0 GENERAL PART

0.1 INTRODUCTION INFORMATIONS

0.1.1 INTRODUCTION

This manual should be considered as a part of the lift, so the responsible person should keep it and make it
available to the lift users.
GMV SpA declines all responsibility if users do not respect what is written in this manual.
GMV SpA Technical Documentation Office is available for customers for further information concerning use.

0.1.2 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

GMV, innovative company, world-wide leader in hydraulic components for lift design, production and sale,
just created this system, to offer customers all the economical and technical advantages, but most of all to
give more safety and comfort to daily users.
The system offers in particular:
• Lower lift costs
• A smaller well size and less busy space obtained with a smaller car frame and a modular lift car.
• A smaller machine room, placed in an enclosure or in the pit.
• Oil circulation reduction with consequent system elasticity reduction.
• General reduction in assembly times and particularly for two pieces ram, obtained with a totally innovative
assembling system.
• The opportunity of a new valve with a double safety system
• The opportunity of a soft-stop system, which assure a soft and accurate stop at the floor level.
• An innovative lift car with doors and walls pre-painted and with a stainless steel entrance which permit
every changes, avoiding working on other parts of the lift.
• Electrical components just wired, very easy to install, maintain and repair.
For further information concerning the system components and technical details, please make reference to
the "System Technical Data" herewith enclosed.

0.1.3 DEFINITIONS

For a better
understanding,
manual:
Passenger: Any person transported by a lift in the car.
User: Person making use of the services of a lift installation.
Authorized and Instructed User: Someone who is allowed in using the lift and who has received the
instructions for using it.
Rescuer: Authorized and Instructed user or Firemen or Maintenance Lift Company
Rated load: The load for which the equipment has been built.
Headroom: Well part between the highest landing and the ceiling well.
Well: The space in which the car and the balancing weight, if there is one, travels.
Pit: The part of the well situated below the lowest landing served by the car.
Machine room: A room in which machine or machines and/or the associated equipment are placed.

0.1.4 SYMBOLS USED

if performed without complying with the safety standards.

0.1.5 RULES REFERENCE

For all definitions not included in this manual please refer to rules and local laws in force, following,
particularly:
EN 81-1, EN 81-2: Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts,
EN 81-28: Remote alarms on passenger lifts,
EN 1050: Safety of machinery - Principles for risk assessment,
ISO 3864: Safety colours and safety signs.
