Possible connection of the spa-pak with the pri-
mary circuit of the heat exchanger
The spas of the Professional range, instead of a water heater,
may be equipped with a plate heat exchanger. In this case, the
water of the spa that circulates in the secondary circuit of the
heat exchanger must be heated with hot water that is circulated
in the primary circuit of the heat exchanger (for example by
means of a circulation pump).
Circulation of hot water in the primary circuit must be con-
trolled by the electrical box installed on the spa-pak, by con-
necting the circulation pump, via a remote switch, to the re-
spective terminal on the electronic card of the electrical box.
See below.
If the building has a water heating system, with a circula-
tion pump that is always in operation, it is possible to create
a shunt and install, on the primary circuit of the heating ele-
ment, a solenoid valve at 24 v, which can be connected directly
to the aforementioned terminals.
If the heat exchanger is connected to an independent boil-
er dedicated only to the spa, it is possible to control its start-
ups and shutdowns, as well as water circulation.
To run the system in the manner described, there is a 24 V
output in the electrical box. The 24 V is present in the terminals
only when water heating is activated, following the same oper-
ating logic as the electrical heater.
To connect the terminals with a remote switch that controls the
circulation pump, or solenoid valve, installed on the primary cir-
cuit of the heat exchanger, an M16 cable clamp has been pro-
i
vided in the factory (
5, detail 2).
The connection of the electrical box to the spa-pak (termi-
nal block M3 on the electronic card) is to made with a nor-
malized cable with a cross section of 2x1.5 mm
which the installer must adequately protect.
NOTE: the devices connected to the M3 terminal block
must have an input of not more than 100 VA (remote
switches of various types, solenoid valves). This output
is in any case protected by a fuse of 5 A.
JACUZZI EUROPE S.p.A. shall not be held liable:
If installation is carried out by unqualified personnel and/or per-
sonnel unauthorized to carry out installation.
If the norms and legal provisions, regarding the electric systems
of buildings, in force in the country in which installation is carried
out are not complied with.
If the instructions for installation and maintenance contained in this
manual are not followed.
If unsuitable and/or uncertified materials are used for installation.
If the spas are not installed in compliance with the aforementioned
standards.
If incorrect operations are performed that reduce the level of pro-
tection of the electrical equipment against water jets, modify the
protection against electrocution due to direct or indirect contact,
or produce abnormal conditions of insulation, current leakage or
overheating.
For example, failure to provide a siphon on the pipes of the blow-
i
er (
2, 2a, 3, 3a) in the models that include this function sub-
stantially reduces the degree of protection against electrocution.
If any components or parts of the appliance are altered in relation
to the original state when supplied, releasing the Manufacturer from
any liability.
If the appliance is repaired by unauthorised personnel or if spare
parts are used other than the original ones supplied by Jacuzzi Eu-
rope S.p.A.

FUNCTIONAL CHECKS

AND FIRST START-UP

Check that the filter has been filled with the provided sand
and that connections have been made to the selector valve and
to the ground drainage point.
Check that installation has been carried out in all details (e.g.
perimeter supports), that pipes have been carefully glued, and
that various sleeves and clamps ensure perfect seal. Also check
that the ball valves of the drain pipes are closed.
Make sure that the ball valves of the various pipes that con-

minimum,
nect the spa to the spa-pak and to the compensation tank are
all open, with the exception of the valves on the filtering suction
line, which must be calibrated properly for best system opera-
tion. This adjustment is necessary each time the system is
drained using the filtering pump and then refilled.
NOTE: the water that goes to the filter comes in part from the
suction nozzles on the bottom of the tub and in part from the
compensation tank. It is advisable to leave the ball valve (
2, 2a, 3, 3a - detail 3) located on the bottom nozzles only par-
tially open, so as to suction about 60-70% from the compen-
sation tank and approximately 40-30% from the bottom noz-
zles of the spa.
Turn on the omnipolar switch located on the power supply line
(see the chapter on connections and electrical safety).
Fill the system with water, i.e. fill the spa until the overflow
channel overflows and let it flow into the compensation tank.
If you use the hose for garden work, let water run
NOTE:
for a while before filling the spa. This will eliminate stag-
