4 Putting into operation

In order to avoid tilting and thus spilling of the pickling liquid, the unit must be placed on a solid and flat

surface.

Prior to initial operation fill the bath container with 250 cm

and switch it on. The control light in the push-button switch lights up.

After approx. 20 min pour a bag with 65 g of Neacid into the heated water and stir with a glass or

wooden stick until the powder is completely dissolved. After approx. 30 min after switching on the unit

the pickling liquid will have the optimum working temperature of approx. 70 °C.

For pickling lift the cover vertically, place the work piece into the swivelling sieve and close the bath

container again.

In order to avoid damage to the swivelling sieve do not insert any hot objects.

Additionally, hot objects may cause splashing of the acid.

5.2

The pickled work pieces can be rinsed directly at the working place in a container that has been

filled with water. During this process, however, the rinsing water must be exchanged repeatedly.

There fore we recommend to rinse the pickled work pieces under running water. This process can

be carried out quickly with the Neacid pickling unit. The bath con tainer with the acid is left at the

working place and the lower side of the cover is used as a dropping tray during the transport of the

work pieces.

Metal tweezers must not be immersed into the acid since this may result in discoloration of the

casting objects.

After rinsing, take the work piece out of the swivelling sieve and immediately place the cover on the

unit again in order to avoid unnecessary evaporation of water from the pickling liquid. Damage to the

unit can not be excluded if the unit is continuously operated with a filling level that is too low.

5.3

If the liquid level has dropped below the marking due to the evaporation of water, the bath must be

filled up with water.

The pickling liquid should be exchanged when it displays intensive blue-green discoloration.
