Action to take
Check the power and interface connections in
the computer. Either the DV interface or the
LANC interface must be connected.
Check the meaning of the indicators in the table
on page 15.
If there is condensation (rapid flashing of
PAUSE indicator), eject the cassette drawer,
remove the cassette, and allow the whole unit
to dry out for about one hour.
DRV-1000: This drive can uses the NTSC color
system only. It cannot play back cassettes
recorded in PAL or SECAM.
DRV-1000P: This drive can only play back PAL
recordings, and not NTSC or SECAM.
Check whether the cassette is write-protected
(the tab has the red portion showing).
Either of the problems on the left, or other
picture faults may be caused by clogged heads.
Clean the heads. (See page 16.)
Press the Reset button (see page 6) to
reinitialize the drive state.
This may not be a fault: if a pause lasts for
more than 5 minutes, the tape transport stops in
order to prevent damage to the tape.
Is the drive recording? Neither software eject
control nor the eject button operates while
recording.
Software ejection control is only possible when
the EJECT jack is connected.
