Editing compatibility using DV connectors

When this drive is connected to other DVCAM or DV video
equipment using DV connectors, the recording format of an
edited (copied) tape is determined by the format of the
recorder, as shown in the following table.

1) Depending on the signal conditions of the source tape, you may not be able
to edit the tape using DV connectors.
2) The audio recording mode in this case is lock mode.
(If the playback tape is in DVCAM format as in 6), then the mode is the
unlocked mode.)
3) Playback may be possible, depending on the unit, but the results of playback
are not guaranteed. Therefore, even if a correctly formatted DVCAM tape is
used for playback, the tape created will be a DVCAM format tape with
timecode discontinuities.
4) Only DV-formatted tape recorded in SP mode can be used as source tapes.
5) Depending on the model of video equipment, it may not be possible to edit.
6) Using a DVCAM device to carry out DV dubbing of a tape recorded in DV
format results in a tape in the DVCAM format as follows.
• The audio recording mode is unlocked mode.
• The timecode format includes discontinuities. (Except in particular
circumstances, however, this has no effect on image recording quality.)
7) If the playback tape is in DVCAM format as in 6), then the tape created will
be a DVCAM format tape with the audio recording mode the unlocked
mode, and with some timecode discontinuities.
