1) There are two modes for audio recording: lock mode and unlocked mode. In
lock mode, the video and audio sampling frequencies are synchronized. In
the unlocked mode adopted by the consumer DV format, the two sampling
frequencies are asynchronous. Lock mode gives better results than unlocked
mode in digital processing and for smooth editing transitions.
