2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
e) Never operate the machine with damaged guards or shields or without
guards or shields in place.
f) Switch on the motor only when the hands and feet are away from the
cutting means.
g) Always disconnect the machine from the power supply (i.e. remove
the plug from the mains, remove the disabling device or removable
battery). Make sure that cutting means have come to a complete stop.
1) Whenever the machine is left unattended;
2) Before clearing a blockage;
3) Before checking, cleaning or working on the machine;
4) After striking a foreign object;
5) Whenever the machine starts vibrating abnormally.
h) Take care against injury to feet and hands from the cutting means.
i) Always ensure that the ventilation openings are kept clear of debris.
j) Keep proper balance and footing at all times. Do not overreach. Always
be sure of your footing on slopes and walk, never run.
k) If the machine breaks down, stop the machine and remove the plug
from the socket. It must be repaired by the manufacturer or their
service agent in order to avoid a hazard.
l) The residual risks like noise, vibration, electromagnetic field, etc.
remain despite the inherent safe design measures, safeguarding and
complementary protective measures adopted.
m) Secure the machine during transport to prevent damage or injury.
n) Never operate the machine if you are tired, ill or under influence of
alcohol, drugs and medicine.
o) Avoid accidental starting. Keep your hands and fingers away from the
switch lever while connecting extension leads or carrying the machine
when connected to the supply. Keep hands and feet away from the
cutting partsat all times and especially when switching on the motor.
p) Keep the cutting head below waist level. Always cut from left to right
