For insulation measurement, proceed as follows:
- Turn the DMM on and select the measurement function
"INSULATION" and the corresponding auxiliary voltage
range.
- Plug the red measuring lead into the red measurement
socket "V" (8), the black measuring lead into the "EARTH"
measurement socket (7). For a one-handed measurement,
you can also use the provided alligator clips or the optional
remote trip measuring lead.
- Four dashes "- - - -" and the unit "MΩ" appear in the
display.
- The small display at the top right shows the auxiliary
voltage. This can be adjusted with the two arrow buttons
in 10% steps from 50% to 120% of the selected voltage
range.
- Connect the two test probes (red = positive pole/black = negative pole) to the object to be
measured. The measurement leads with alligator clips make handling during the measure-
ment or during long-term measurement easier.
During the measurement, an acoustic beep, a flashing lightning symbol and
the red signal light (10) warn that the test voltage is applied to the measuring
leads.
- For a single measurement, press and hold the "TEST" button for the duration of the meas-
urement. "TEST" appears in the display, and after a short time, the insulation resistance and
the current auxiliary test voltage are shown. Wait until the main display has stabilised. This
can take several seconds. Release the "TEST" button to interrupt the measurement.
- The last measured value is displayed and the measurement circuit is discharged. Leave the
measuring leads connected until the auxiliary voltage display stands at zero.
- For a long-term measurement, press and hold the "TIME/LOCK" button for approx. 2 s. The
lock symbol appears on the display.
- Briefly press the "TEST" button to start the insulation test. The long-term measurement
mode can be interrupted by pressing the "TEST" button again.
