corresponding LED of your preferred duration is illuminated. For
example, when the LED light "30" is illuminated, the unit will
operate for 30 seconds.
C. After the unit has been set and the cycle button has been
pressed on (blue cycle LED is illuminated), the unit immediately
starts its first cycle. The next cycle will begin depending on
hourly setting of the first dial. If the unit is switched off, the cycle
will start again after the cycle button has been pressed. In the
case of a power failure, the unit will automatically resume in
cycle mode. The first cycle starts as soon as the power comes
back on.
NOTE: When the reservoir is empty, it is advisable to refill the
reservoir immediately or to switch off the unit. The pump has a
built-in safety cut-off that will switch off the pump (not the unit)
when overheated. When the pump cools down, it will automatically
switch on again. This is a safety feature, and one should not rely on
the thermal cut-off.
NOTE: The Exo Terra
Monsoon MULTI II should be set according to
®
the needs of the animals and to the size of the terrarium. Be careful
not to operate the unit too frequently or too long to avoid overflowing
the terrarium! The unit should be set so that water added to the
terrarium from the first operating cycle is allowed to evaporate
before the next operating cycle begins, or at least make sure that the
excess water can be drained out of the terrarium.
Adding additional Nozzles to the system
The Exo Terra® Monsoon MULTI II can be operated with up to 6
nozzles. Please note that every additional nozzle will result in less
8
performance from each nozzle installed. To connect additional
nozzles, an extra nozzle (PT2501) and a Y-connector (PT2498) is
needed (sold separately). Simply cut the tubing where convenient,
preferably as close as possible to the first Y-connector. Make sure
the nozzle can easily be mounted in its intended location without
stretching the tubing. Connect the tubing coming from the unit to
the single hole of the Y-connector and the other end of the tubing to
the double hole. Connect the tubing from the additional nozzle to the
other hole of the Y-connector. Please note that additional nozzles can
be mounted in multiple terrariums.
MAINTENANCE
It is advisable to place the unit in a dark location or otherwise
shielded from light to prevent the growth of algae in the reservoir.
Should algae form, just wipe the inside of the reservoir with a
damp cloth. Do NOT use detergent or solvents as it might harm
your terrarium animals! Make sure to discard any dirty water or
water containing debris or particles. Only use de-mineralised/
distilled water or debris-free and clean rainwater! Replace the filter
regularly, at least every six months depending on the usage and
water quality. If the nozzles are clogged or if they spray irregularly,
place the nozzles overnight in a 50/50 water/vinegar solution. Rinse
thoroughly with clean water before mounting the nozzles back onto
the terrarium. If the problem persists, we recommend replacing
the spray head with one of the two replacement spray heads with
the nozzle tool (included). A replacement filter (PT2500) and other
accessories are available at your local Exo Terra
®
pet retailer.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. There is no LED indicator illuminated on the unit:
- The unit is switched off, press either the "on" button or the
"cycle" button
- If the problem persists, make sure the power adaptor is
correctly inserted into the wall socket.
- That the power supply jack is connected to the unit
2. The tubing is leaking at the connectors:
- Disconnect the tubing from the connector by pressing down
and holding the blue ring while pulling the tubing. Connect the
tubing again by pushing the tubing firmly into the opening as
far as possible.
- If the problem persists, disconnect the tubing and cut off about
1,5 cm (1/2") as straight as possible and reconnect.
3. The nozzle is leaking at the joints:
- If the nozzles are under pressure, accidental leakage might
occur near the joints. Try to move the nozzle in a slightly different
position. If the leakage occurs near the front joint (octagonal
part), try to tighten the front part.
- If the problem persists, replace the nozzle (available at your
local Exo Terra pet retailer).
4. The nozzle does not spray or sprays irregularly:
- The nozzle may be clogged. Soak the nozzle overnight in a
50/50 solution of water/vinegar (See "Maintenance" section).
- If the problem persists, we recommend replacing the spray
head with one of the two replacement spray heads with the
nozzle tool (included).
- Using de-mineralized/distilled water will prolong the lifespan
of the nozzles. It is not recommended to open the nozzle, as it
consists of very small parts and any tampering will may result in
complete malfunction of the nozzle.
