Checking probe position

13
This menu option, which allows you to check the correct probe position against the surface to be
explored, is very useful in the following two cases :
1
When measuring grooves or bores.
Prevents the probe from moving right up to the limit of the measuring area as the probe body is contacting
the surface or ensures that the probe is still contacting the surface, otherwise the measurement will be
interrupted.
2
When measuring critical surfaces.
Serves for positioning the probe correctly on concave or convex surfaces.
To access this menu option, select Position, and then validate through ENTER
Resolution ±15 µm
The left arrow icon shows the current position of the probe stylus. There are 3 Y-resolutions that can be
chosen, i.e. ±15 µm, ±50 µm and ±150 µm (respectively ±600 µin, ±2000 µin and ±6000 µin).

Checking power status

14
To access this menu option, select Diagnostic, and then validate trough ENTER
Use it to check the power status of the gauge unit, but also the battery charge.

Calibration

15
It is advisable to check and calibrate your RUGOSURF 10G at regular intervals – i.e. the parameter value
Ra measured on the comparison specimen
specified value.
Calibration is performed based on the parameter
(specimen) will first be set before the measurement is carried out.
