| Children's wheelchair

1. Preface

Dear user,
Your purchase of a Bischoff & Bischoff Pyrolino folding wheelchair
means you are getting a top-quality German product that sets new
standards in terms of versatility. Pyrolino is intended both for indoor
and outdoor use.
This operating manual is aimed primarily at the parents and guardians
of the children who use this wheelchair.
This operating manual should help you become more familiar with
the operation and use of the wheelchair. Please read and follow the
operating manual carefully before operating your new wheelchair
for the first time. The operating manual is an integral and necessary
component of the wheelchair. Keep the operating manual where you
can refer to it, and if you pass the wheelchair on to someone else, give
the manual to the new owner.
For users with visual impairment, this document is available as a PDF
file on our internet page www.bischoff-bischoff.com.

2. Important safety instructions

2.1. General safety instructions

In order to avoid toppling and dangerous situations, the handling
of the new wheelchair should be practised in a flat, easily
manageable area. We recommend having someone accompany you
in this situation.
Before using the wheelchair, please check whether all fitted parts
are properly attached.
Never lift the wheelchair by parts that are not securely attached
(armrests or leg rests).
Make sure that the quick-release axles are seated properly in the
axle holders – otherwise there is a risk of injury.
Please note that the risk of tipping to the side and tipping
backwards may increase due to shifts in equilibrium caused by body
movements or loads on the wheelchair.
The wheelchair must not be misused by transporting more than one
person. Please ensure that you respect the intended purpose of the
product.
Please note there is a risk of becoming trapped between moving
parts when adjusting, using and maintaining the wheelchair.
Someone should be asked to accompany you when negotiating
obstacles (steps, etc.). Use the tip assist (see overview of the
wheelchair) to tip the wheelchair in an appropriate way.
Steps and larger obstacles may only be negotiated with the help
of at least two companions. Use lifting points 1 and 2 for this (see
5.3.). If facilities such as access ramps, lifts or step climbing aids are
available, these should be used.
For journeys on a slope/incline, it must be noted that, depending
on the axis position that has been set, there is a risk of tipping
even if the slope/incline is only a few degrees. Use of anti-tipping
wheels is recommended.
Avoid driving into an obstacle without braking (e.g. steps, kerbs) or
"jumping down" from one level to another.
Avoid journeys on uneven, loose surfaces.
