1.0 INSTALLATION
The XB10 xenon beacon is mounted via the standard mounting bracket fixed to the base of the unit.
Please note that if the beacon is to be used in high amplitude vibra-tion applications, the optional anti-vibration
clamp would be advisable. Please contact MEDC for details.
Please refer to Figure 1 for fixing centres.
1.1 TERMINAL ACCESS
General
Cable termination should be in ac-cordance with specifications apply-ing to the application. MEDC recommend
that all cables and cores should be fully identified.
Ensure that only the correct certi-fied glands are used and that the assembly is shrouded and correctly
earthed.
Ensure there is not too much slack of cable cores within the unit, due to space limitations.
Ensure that only the correct certi-fied stopping plugs are used to blank off unused gland entry points. We recom-
mend the use of 'HYLOMAR PL32 COMPOUND' on the threads of stopping plugs in order to maintain the IP67
rating of the unit.
This manual contains standard wiring configurations. Non-standard configurations can be supplied separately
upon request.
EExd Unit
Unscrew the grub screw on the lens cover assembly one full turn (2.0mm A/F hexagon key required).
Unscrew and remove the cover. Once the cover has been removed, slide the PCB out until the terminals clear
the case.
Terminate field wiring as illustrated in Figure 2.
