Declaration of Conformity

We declare under our sole responsibility that the product de-
scribed under "Technical Data" is in conformity with the fol-
lowing standards or standardization documents: EN 60745
according to the provisions of the directives 2011/65/EU,
2004/108/EC, 2006/42/EC.

Assembly
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Auxiliary Handle (see figure A)
Operate your machine only with the auxiliary handle 9.
The auxiliary handle 9 can be set to any position for a secure
and low-fatigue working posture.
Turn the bottom part of the auxiliary handle 9 in counterclock-
wise direction and swivel the auxiliary handle 9 to the desired
position. Then retighten the bottom part of the auxiliary han-
dle 9 by turning in clockwise direction.
Adjusting the Drilling Depth
The required drilling depth X can be set with the depth stop 7.
Loosen the wing bolt for the depth stop adjustment 8 and in-
sert the depth stop rod into the auxiliary handle 9.
Pull out the depth stop until the distance between the tip of
the drill bit and the tip of the depth stop correspond with the
desired drilling depth X.
Changing the Tool (see figure B)
Wear protective gloves when changing the tool. The drill
chuck can become very hot during longer work periods.
Open the key type drill chuck 1 by turning until the tool can be
inserted. Insert the tool.
Insert the chuck key 5 into the corresponding holes of the key
type drill chuck 1 and clamp the tool uniformly.
Replacing the Drill Chuck (see figure C)
To dismount the key type drill chuck 1 position an open-end
spanner (size 27 mm) against the nut on the drive spindle. Firm-
ly hold the key type drill chuck with one hand and with the other
hand, turn the open-end spanner in anticlockwise direction until
the drill chuck is released from the tapered drill spindle.
Keep the drill spindle taper and the drill hole of the drill
chuck free from grease and debris.
Bosch Power Tools
To mount the key type drill chuck 1 turn the nut on the drive
spindle in clockwise direction to the stop. Place the key type
drill chuck without force onto the drive spindle until it is tightly
seated. Apply light blows with a rubber hammer onto the face
side of the key type drill chuck 1 to ensure tight seating of the
chuck. Pay attention that the clamping jaws of the key type
drill chuck do not project, in order not to damage them.

Dust/Chip Extraction

Dusts from materials such as lead-containing coatings,
some wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful to
one's health. Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause
allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of
the user or bystanders.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are considered
as carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-treat-
ment additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials
containing asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the
materials to be worked.
Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace. Dusts can
easily ignite.
Operation

Starting Operation

Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage of the pow-
er source must agree with the voltage specified on the
nameplate of the machine. Power tools marked with
230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Reversing the Rotational Direction
The rotational direction switch 6 is used to reverse the rota-
tional direction of the machine. However, this is not possible
with the On/Off switch 4 actuated.
Right rotation: For drilling and screwdriving, press the rota-
tional direction switch 6 downward to "R".
Left rotation: For loosening and unscrewing screws and
nuts, press the rotational direction switch 6 upward to "L".
Gear Selection, Mechanical
Actuate the gear selector 2 only when the machine is at
a standstill.
Two speed ranges can be preselected with the gear selector 2.
1st gear:
Low speed range; for working with large drill-
ing diameter.
2nd gear:
Higher speed range; for working with small
drilling diameter.
If the gear selector 2 cannot be fully engaged, lightly rotate
the drive spindle with the drill bit by twisting the drill chuck.
