SAFETY
Intended use:
This machine is intended for household use and similar applications such as:
-In cooking areas reserved for staff in shops, offi ces and other professional environments;
-In factories;
-Use by customers of hotels, motels and other residential environments;
-In bed and breakfasts, or similar environments;
Any misuse (use not described in these instructions) is prohibited. Do not make technical changes. The machine is not intended
for use by children or people with reduced physical, mental or sensory capacity or lack of experience and knowledge unless they
have been instructed on the use of the machine and are supervised by a person responsible for their safety.
Location:
Put the stand (or the machine if you are not using the stand) on a fl at, horizontal, stable surface far from water, fl ames or sources
of heat. The stand (at least its back part) must be placed against a wall, in a location where it cannot be knocked by passers-by or
moving objects. The machine must be centred when positioned on the stand. Do not keep the machine at a temperature below
0 ° since ice may cause damage. Do not use the coff ee machine outdoors. Do not place the machine on hot surfaces and / or near
water, fl ames or sources of heat. When the machine is switched on it should never be covered with towels or other items.
Power supply:
Connect the coff ee machine only to a suitable electric socket. The voltage must correspond to the one indicated on the machine
plate.
Power cord:
Do not use the coff ee machine if the power cord is defective or damaged. In such cases it must be replaced immediately. Do not
pass the power cord over sharp edges and corners, or very hot objects; and protect it from oil and water. Do not carry or pull the
machine by the cord. Do not unplug by pulling the cord; do not touch it with wet hands. Do not let the cord dangle from tables or
shelves.
Danger of electric shock:
Never put the live parts in contact with water.
Protection of other people:
Keep children under supervision to prevent them from playing with the machine. Children are not aware
of the risks involved in electrical appliances. Do not leave the packaging materials within their reach.
Danger of burns:
Do not touch hot parts immediately after using the machine. During the brewing of the drink pay attention to possible splashes of
hot liquid and maintain a safe distance.
Cleaning:
Before cleaning the machine it is necessary to disconnect the power cord and wait until the machine cools down. Never use
alkaline detergents, solvents, alcohol or aggressive substances. Do not immerse the machine in water! It is strictly forbidden to
touch the inside of the machine. Do not use the tank water for food-related purposes.
Machine storage:
When the machine is not used for an extended period, remove the plug from the socket and store in a dry place inaccessible to
children. Protect it from dust and dirt.
Repairs / Maintenance:
In case of failures, defects or suspected damages after a fall, immediately remove the plug from the socket. Never operate a
defective machine. Only authorized service centres may make interventions and repairs. In the case of work not carried out
according to professional standards, we disclaim all responsibility for any damage.
Water tank:
Fill the tank only with fresh, still, drinking water. Do not operate the machine if the water does not reach the minimum level
indicated on the tank.
Capsule compartment:
Only Lavazza BLUE capsules must be inserted in the capsule compartment. Do not put your fi ngers or any other object inside. The
capsules are to be used only once.
Machine disposal at end of life (European Directive 2002/96/EC - DL July 25, 2005 No 151):
The wheelie-bin symbol on the machine and/or on the packaging indicates that the product must not be thrown away as domestic waste
at the end of its useful life. The machine must be brought to a specifi c collection centre for electrical waste and electronic equipment
in the national territory, or to the dealer when purchasing new equipment as a one-for one-replacement. The user is responsible for
taking the machine to the appropriate waste disposal site, or will be subject to the penalties provided by the legislation in force at
that time. Proper separate refuse collection of such equipment for recycling and / or environmentally friendly disposal helps to avoid
possible negative environmental and health eff ects, and promotes the reuse and / or recycling of the machine materials. For further
information on the collection system available, contact your local waste disposal service or the dealer where you made your purchase.
