Introduction
The Druck RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS is a
digital remote Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD)
interface. It is used with an RTD probe and a Druck
portable indicator or calibrator, for example DPI 705E,
DPI 705E-IS, DPI 620G or DPI 620G-IS.
These user instructions include the operations for the
RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS, safety
instructions and the requirements for intrinsically safe
product.
The RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS is equipped a
standard M12 socket for connection of 2,3 or 4 wire RTD
probes.
For the full specification and user manual, refer to Druck
website:
WARNING
Do not use the non-intrinsically
safe RTD-INTERFACE in locations where
explosive gas, vapor or dust are present.
There is a risk of an explosion.
Some liquid and gas mixtures are dangerous.
This includes mixtures that occur because of
contamination.
It is dangerous to ignore the specified limits
(refer to data sheet) for the
RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS or to
use the RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS
when it is not in its normal condition. Use the
applicable protection and obey all safety
precautions.

HOT SURFACE

to measure a very wide temperature range.
Avoid freeze/burn hazards when installing and
removing RTD probes at extreme
temperatures.
Safety
The RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS has been
designed to be safe when operated using the procedures
detailed in this manual. Do not use this equipment for any
other purpose than that stated, the protection provided by
the equipment may be impaired.
Before installing and using the
RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS, read and
understand all the related data. This includes: all local
safety procedures and installation standards, and this
document.
The RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS may be used
with an M12 RTD probe directly plugged into the RTD port,
item 1 in Figure A3. Ensure that the touchable surfaces of
the RTD probe and
RTD-INTERFACE/RTD-INTERFACE-IS do not exceed the
following limits:

If the surface temperature limit is exceeded, use a suitable
M12 extension cable to bring the touchable surface
temperature back into limits.
The RTD probe used must be designed to withstand and
contain any pressure present in the media being
monitored.
Repair
Do not do repairs to this equipment. Return the equipment
to the manufacturer or an approved service agent.
