Your Medisana pain relief plaster Medistim is a TENS/EMS device.
TENS = Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation
EMS = Electric Muscle Stimulation
It provides treatment in the low frequency range using the TENS/EMS method.
Using this method, weak electrical pulses are conducted through the skin using
the pain relief plaster thus stimulating muscles, nerve fibres and acupuncture
meridians in order to utilise the body's own pain relief mechanisms.
The treatment may be used:
• for local pain relief
• relief for symptomatic, chronically stubborn pain
• in assisting the treatment of post-operative and traumatic acute attacks of
pain and phantom pain
• in assisting the treatment of headaches, tension in the upper back and nape
of neck area, painful shoulder and arm tension
• in assisting the treatment of tennis elbow, sciatica and joint pain
• for circulation problems and menstrual pain
• in assisting the treatment of painful ligaments and muscle injuries
• for strengthening and toning the muscles
