Keep hands away from the rotating diamond-
cutting disc.
The machine may only be used for dry machin-
ing of masonry.
Be careful when cutting grooves, e. g. in load-
carrying walls: See the information on statics.
Use appropriate detectors to determine if
utility lines are hidden in the work area or
call the local utility company for assis-
tance.
Contact with electric lines can lead to fire and
electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead
to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes
property damage or may cause an electric
shock.
Hold electric tools by their insulated han-
dles whenever they could possibly touch a
hidden wire or their own cords.
Touching a "live" wire can transfer the voltage
to the exposed metal parts of the tool and give
the operator an electric shock.
Caution! Sparks can also reach combustible
materials that are covered.
Blocking the cutting disc leads to a strong jerk-
ing reaction of the machine. If this happens,
switch off the machine immediately.
Observe the manufacturer's instructions for
mounting and operating the diamond cutting
discs.
Caution! Diamond-cutting discs do not stop
running immediately after turning off the ma-
chine. Do not exert any lateral pressure on the
diamond cutting discs.
Operate the machine only with the dust extrac-
tion device. In addition, wear a dust protection
mask. The vacuum cleaner must be approved
for the vacuuming of masonry dust. Insert the
extraction elbow 16 into the protective cover
fixture and connect the vacuum hose (acces-
sory).
Caution! Diamond cutting discs become very
hot during operation; do not touch them until
they have cooled down.
Never set down the rotating machine on the
chaser rollers 10 , moreover lay it on the side
so that the cutting discs can run freely and do
not point toward the body.
Always switch the machine off and wait until it
has come to a standstill before placing it down.
Never allow children to use the machine.
Bosch can only guarantee a flawless function-
ing of the machine if the original accessories
intended for it are used.

Information on Statics
Slots in load-carrying walls are subject to Part 1
of
No. 1053, or to country-specific regulations.
These regulations are to be observed under all
circumstances. Before beginning work, consult
the structural engineer, architect or construction
supervisor in charge.
The permitted slot depth and width depends on
the slot length, wall thickness and the used build-
ing material.

Intended Use

With a firm support of the cutting guide, the ma-
chine is intended to cut or slot mainly mineral ma-
terials such as reinforced concrete, brickwork
and road surfaces without the use of water.
Adjusting the Protective Cover
The protective cover can be adjusted within a
certain limit to the machine.
Release the quick-clamping lever for the protec-
tive cover 4 and adjust the protective cover ac-
cording to the working conditions. Make sure not
to change the setting of the adjustment screw 3 .
Tighten the protective cover again with the quick-
clamping lever 4 .

Auxiliary Handle

Depending on the working method, screw the
auxiliary handle into the right or left side of the
handle holder.
After releasing the locking screw for the auxiliary-
handle holder 12 , the handle holder can be
adapted to the respective working position in
30° increments.
When tightening the locking screw for the auxil-
iary-handle holder 12 , pay attention that the four
positioning pins in the handle holder are engaged
in the holes of the protective cover.
