Simplest way:
Enter the values for the zero point and the full scale from the sensor data
sheet in the Enter characteristic curve window.
(e.g. Zero point:
Span:
Alternatively: (Calibrate characteristic curve window) measure two points
per sensor
To keep measurement error as small as possible, the points used should lie at
the limits of the subsequently used measurement range.
Procedure:
1. Approach the first characteristic curve point , e.g. move displacement
transducer to the starting position, for force (and zero point as the selected
point), relieve the transducer.
2. Enter corresponding physical value in "Physical point 1", e.g. 0 mm.
3. Click on "Measure point 1". The value measured by the MP85A process
controller appears under "Electrical point 1".
4. Move to second characteristic curve point, e.g. set path using gauge block,
set force value with weights or with reference transducer, etc.
5. Enter the value of quantity set under "Physical point 2", e. g. 40 kN or
60 mm.
6. Click on "Measure point 2". The value measured by the MP85A process
controller appears under "Electrical point 2".
Apply the same procedure to the second sensor.
Step 3 (zero balance, signal conditioning), needed for sensors both with
and without TEDS:
The sensors are now connected and the system is in the starting position.
Carry out a zero balance for each sensor with the "Zero balance" button.
The sensor technology and the amplifier are now perfectly coordinated.
TIP
To store all the settings safe from power failure, these should now be saved in
the Save/load parameters window in the internal MP85A process controller
memory (menu: Save to Flash) as well as on the PC (menu: Save to PC)!
