ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUSTING THE RIVING KNIFE (Fig. 13-16)
This saw is shipped with the riving knife placed in "down" position.
NOTE: The riving knife has three positions: 1) fully down for dado cutting; 2) mid-
point when not fully cutting through wood e.g. making channels; 3) fully up for
normal operation.
Up
• Unplug the saw.
To place in "up" position for all through cutting:
• Remove the table insert.
• Raise the saw blade by turning the height adjusting knob clockwise.
• Unlock the release lever by pushing the lever up. (see Fig. 13)
• Grasp the riving knife and push it towards the right to unlock it from the pin then
pull it up until the pins are reengaged and the riving knife is "up" position.
(see Fig. 14)
• Lock the release lever by pushing the lever down. (see Fig. 13)
• Reinstall the table insert.
To place in mid-point for non-through cutting e.g. making channel:
• Remove the table insert.
• Raise the saw blade by turning the height adjusting knob clockwise.
• Unlock the release lever by pushing the lever up.
• Grasp the riving knife and push it towards the right to unlock it from the pin then
pull it down until it is located in the mid-point position. (see Fig. 15).
• Lock the release lever by pushing the lever down.
• Reinstall the table insert.
To place in "down" position for dado cutting
• Remove the table insert.
• Raise the saw blade by turning the height adjusting knob clockwise.
• Unlock the release lever by pushing the lever up.
• Grasp the riving knife and push it towards the right to unlock it from the pin then
pull it down until the riving knife is in "down" position. (see Fig. 16).
• Lock the release lever by pushing the lever down.
• Reinstall the table insert.
