Move not only in the mesiodistal and buccolingual directions but
also up and down as if delivering water to the apex (light pumping
action). At that time, pay attention to the reaches of water injection
CAUTION
(Fig. 3).
In order to prevent damage to the alveolar bone, move the tip apex
along the tooth to the extent possible (Fig. 4).
Move the tip with an image of
delivering water to the apex
(light pumping action).
If the tip is operated too deeply or is held in one location for a
prolonged period, postoperative pain, swelling, bone damage, loss,
sequestration, etc., may occur due to thermal stimulation of the tip.
Do not bring the tip into contact with soft tissue, such as gums
or mucous membrane, for a prolonged period. The tissue may
become burned.
Do not apply force to the tip apex more than necessary. The tip
may fracture, curve, etc. Pay extra attention in applying pressure in
the lateral direction.
Tooth removal cannot be completed with this tip alone. The tip for
periodontal membrane removal serves as a complement to removal
of the periodontal membrane; where socket damage is minimized
by the rupturing periodontal membrane as a previous treatment for
tooth removal. In accordance with general rules, make sure to use
also an elevator, periotome, forceps, etc.
Do not use the tip in place of an elevator, etc., while prying or turn-
ing the tooth. The tip may be deformed or fractured.
