1. Start a Check travel with low dynamic response.
Despite identical control, motors of the same design sometimes turn in the opposite direction due
to different wiring. The spindle of the EGC turns in a clockwise direction: when the drive trunnion is
turned clockwise, the slide moves in the direction of the motor.
2. Start Homing run in accordance with the operating instructions for your motor drive system with
low dynamic response towards the reference switch.
The homing run may only be performed towards the reference switch.
3. Start a Test run with low dynamic response.
4. Check whether the EGC fulfils the following conditions:
– The slide must be able to move through the complete intended positioning cycle.
– The slide must stop as soon as it reaches a limit switch.

Warning
Moving masses can cause personal injury and material damage (risk of crushing).
• Make sure that:
– nobody can place his/her hand in the path of the moving components
(e.g. through use of protective guards)
– there are no foreign objects in the path of the moving components
It should not be possible to touch the EGC until the mass has come to a complete
standstill.
Fitting in a vertical or sloping position:
Warning
Falling masses can cause personal injury and material damage.
If there is a power failure or if the spindle nut breaks, the effective load will fall.
