Servicing and repair
For user safety, the product must be inspected periodically to
ensure the device's strength and efficiency. Depending on how
frequently the device is used, the environmental conditions, and
the regulations at the company or in the country of use, these
checks may be required more frequently.
The periodic inspections must be performed by qualified persons
or persons trained by Tractel® SAS, strictly applying the follo-
wing procedures:
• If the lanyard is dirty, wash it with clear, cold water using a
GB
detergent for delicate textiles if necessary; use a synthetic
brush.
• If during use or washing, the lanyard has become wet, allow it
to dry naturally in a shaded location, away from any source of
heat ;
• Before each use, inspect the lanyard visually along its entire
length ;
• Serious, non-visible damage can impact the strength of the
lanyard. TRACTEL® therefore recommends that no lanyard
ever be used outside the control of a person in charge of the
equipment;
• Acids, oils and gasoline placed in contact with the lanyard will
impact its strength. The polyamide fibers of the lanyard will be
attacked by these products. The resulting deterioration of the
fibers will not necessarily be visible to the naked eye;
• Avoid unnecessary exposure of the lanyard to the sun and store
it in a shaded area sheltered from humidity.
• Avoid any friction of the lanyard with sharp edges or abrasive
surfaces.
• Store the lanyard in a bag designed for its protection and
transport. TRACTEL® proposes a bag which is suitable for wor-
king at heights.
• No special maintenance of the stopfor™ is required. We do
recommend that you clean it using soapy water.
• Annual servicing and repairs must be performed by TRACTEL®
or by an approved repair agent.
• The shelf life of the LCR/LCM/stopfor™ K/stopfor™ B is 6
years.
