3.3 Measuring cable

Length max. : 100 m
It is recommended to connect the transducer by means of screened, low ca-
pacitance cables. It is quite possible to use cables up to a length of 100 m.
HBM recommend the extension cable type Kab 5/00−4.
There is a number of ready made HBM measuring cables fitted with various
cable sockets, for all HBM transducers. Furthermore, suitable cables are of-
fered as extra length cables by the metre.

3.4 Transducer connections

Inductive transducer (7 mH ... 20 mH)
The measuring amplifier MC2A is suitable for the connection of all transduc-
ers with inductive half bridge having an inductance of 7 ... 20 mH.
The transducer connection cable shall be fed through the right hand stuffing
gland into the housing. The separate cable cores shall be connected to the
clamp strip as follows:

NOTE
When operating with a current final stage or with the limit switch,
the transducer output signal must have a positive sign. Should
this not be the case, the connections to terminals 2 and 3 should
be switched.
