entwicklung wird das Schwungrad dann anfangen sich zu drehen. Anschlie-
ßend den Dampfabsperrhahn schließen, die Holzpritsche wieder aufstecken
und das Dach aufsetzen. Nun den Dampfabsperrhahn halb öffnen (45°),
das Schwungrad wieder in Pfeilrichtung anwerfen, damit der Foden LKW
fährt. Mit dem Lenkrad im Führerhaus ist die Fahrtrichtung zu bestimmen.
Achtung: Die Befeuerung mit Trockenbrennstofftabletten er-
fordert viel Sauerstoff. Eine gute Belüftung des Zimmers ist
daher notwendig! Tabletten, die
sind, wegen der auftretenden Geruchsbelästigung nicht ausbla-
sen, sondern unbedingt ausbrennen lassen. Falls nicht genü-
gend Wasser im Kessel ist, sollte der Brennerschieber auf eine feuerfesten
Unterlage gelegt werden und hier die Brennstofftabletten restlos abge-
brannt werden.
13. Nach Beendigung des Dampfbetriebes und dem Abkühlen sollte das
Dampfmodell gewartet werden. Das Kondensat des Zylinders sammelt sich
im vorderen Teil des Kessels. Zum Leeren des Kondensatbehälters den Ka-
min, das Dach und die Pritsche entfernen. Anschließend das Modell auf
den Kopf stellen, damit das Kondensat aus der Kaminöffnung fließen kann.
Achtung: Kondensatbehälter und Kessel nur bei abgekühlter Maschi-
ne leeren. Noch im Kessel vorhandenes Wasser durch Herausnehmen des
Federsicherheitsventiles entleeren. Im Kessel verbleibendes Wasser kann
der Funktion nicht schaden, aber evtl. zu Ablagerungen an dem Schauglas
führen. Kalkrückstände am Wasserstandsschauglas oder im Kessel auf kei-
nem Fall mit Essig oder sonstigen stark ätzenden Mitteln entfernen
(Empfehlung : Verwendung eines kalklösenden Mittels, welches Messing
und Lötzinn nicht angreift). Zum Abschluss das Modell trockenputzen.
Garantie:
14. Alle WILESCO - Dampfmodelle sind sorgfältig geprüft. Sollte trotz-
dem ein Mangel auftreten, helfen wir oder reparieren das Dampfmodell.
Sie können das Dampfmodell über Ihren Fachhändler oder direkt an uns
frei einsenden. Wir bitten um Verständnis, dass bereits angeheizte/ge-
brauchte Modelle nicht gegen neue ausgetauscht werden können. Die
häufigsten Reklamationen sind undichte Dampfkessel. Die Lötnaht wird
durch Beheizung ohne ausreichenden Wasserstand zerstört. In solchen Fäl-
len verflüssigt sich das Lötzinn an der Lötnaht tropfenförmig und der Kes-
sel wird undicht. Dies ist ein eindeutiger Beweis, dass der Kessel trocken-
geheizt wurde. Bitte beobachten Sie stets sorgfältig den Wasserstand,
da eine Trockenbeheizung jegliche Garantieansprüche ausschließt.
Zum Foden-LKW kann eine auf das Lenkrad aufsteckbare manuelle Fern-
steuerung Z361 (Bestell-Nr. 00361) verwendet werden. Bitte über Ihren
Fachhändler bestellen.
Umweltschutz wird auch bei uns groß geschrieben. Somit haben Sie die
Möglichkeit nach einem langen Dampfmaschinenleben das Modell und
auch die Original-Verpackung an uns zurückzugeben. (Versandkosten wer-
den nicht übernommen.) Alle zurückgesandten Modelle / Verpackungen
werden von uns einem fachgerechten Recycling zugeführt.
Dieses Modell ist ausschließlich für die oben beschriebene Funktion
bestimmt.
Technische Änderungen behalten wir uns vor.

Attention! Before operating this steam engine
model please read and observe thoroughly the
operation instructions. Important information
and safety precautions for your own safety:
1. For safety reasons, children (recommended
age: from 8 years on, not recommended for
children under 36 months) should run this steam model only under
supervision of adults .
During the operation of the steam model until its complete cooling, the
engine must be under constant observation.
2. Each irregularity during operation has to be repaired by a competent and
authorized person or by WILESCO themselves. Otherwise any warranty
expires.
3. Any unauthorized change, repair or manipulation to the standard
specification will also invalidate the warranty.
4. All parts which are under steam pressure so as boiler, spring loaded
safety valve etc. leave our works only after a 100 % examination. The
spring loaded safety valve must not be manipulated. The operation of the
steam model without spring loaded safety valve is not allowed. The
function of the spring loaded safety valve has to be checked before each
operation by pressing the spring or by a short pull on the upper valve rod. If

lime residues caused by hard water are visible on the safety valve it has to
be replaced immediately.
5. High temperatures: The principles on which the engine works mean
that the burner slide, boiler, boiler housing, spring loaded safety valve,
steam pipes etc. become very hot. Do not touch in order to avoid the risk of
burns.
6. Safety precautions: During operation take care that children do not
touch any of the moving parts.
7. Danger if the boiler is heated without enough water!
Always ensure that there is enough water in the boiler starting.
Caution: When refilling WiTabs dry fuel tablets also refill
water up to the max. level. The water must always be visible
at least at the lower end of the sight glass, otherwise the
weldings become leaking and the boiler will be destroyed. Any resulting
claim, damage or consequential damage cannot be accepted. If the boiler or
any steam leading part leak, stop the steam model immediately by
removing the burner slide. Any necessary repair should be carried out by
authorized and trained staff only or at WILESCO company.
8. The steam model meets all safety standards and actual regulations. Each
boiler has been submitted to a bursting pressure and water test of 5 bar.
The operating pressure is maximally 1,5 bar.
9. Imperatively keep the operation instructions with your steam model.
Attention: Operate the steam model only in safe distance to flammable
objects and on heat resistant surfaces. Operation only under windless
condition.
Operating instructions
10. Filling with water at the first operation and after cooling of the boiler:
Unscrew the spring loaded safety valve and fill the boiler with the funnel
up to the water level maximum (upper end of the sight glass), if possible
with warm water. Lift the funnel slightly during filling so that the air can
escape from the boiler. Use only deficient in lime water or, better, water
without any lime (e.g. distilled water). Then screw in the safety valve.
11. For oiling the cylinder, the steam regulator between boiler and cylinder
has to be closed according to the picture (closed = horizontal position,
open = vertical position). Only now unscrew the oil filler cap and fill in
WILESCO steam engine oil while turning the flywheel several times so
that the oil is absorbed. It is necessary to oil at each filling with dry fuel
tablets in order to avoid that the piston becomes stuck (2 - 3 drops are
sufficient for an operating period of abt. 10 min.).
The steam regulator has to remain closed during the oiling process. Oil
all bearings and links.
12. Place WiTabs dry fuel tablets upright into the burner slide
(max. 2 pieces) and light them. Use exclusively the original
Wilesco burner slide. Caution: Watch and keep all safety
precautions when handling with open fire. Remove upwards
the platform from the steam model and insert the burner slide completely
into the burner slide guide. Remove the roof from the steam lorry during
the heating period and open the steam regulator. After 5 - 6 minutes lift the
lorry slightly at the back and try to start the flywheel into direction of
arrow. If there is enough steam pression, the flywheel will start to spin.
Then close the steam regulator, place platform and roof. Reopen the steam
regulator half (45 °) and restart the flywheel into direction of arrow so that
the Foden lorry starts to go. The direction can be controlled by the steering
wheel.
Attention: Dry fuel tablets require a lot of oxygen to burn
properly. The room should be well ventilated. In order to
prevent unpleasant smells, the fuel tablets should burn out, they
should not be blown out. If there is not enough water in the
boiler, place the burner slide on a fireproof plate until the
tablets have completely burnt out.
13. After operation and cooling down of the steam model it should be
serviced. The condensate of the cylinder gathers in the front part of the
boiler. To empty the condensate tray remove the smoke stack, the roof and
the platform and turn the model upside down to enable the condensate to
escape from the smoke stack opening. Attention: Empty condensate tray
and boiler unless the engine is cooled down. Water which remains in the
boiler can be poured out after removal of the safety valve. Any water left in
the boiler cannot do any damage, but might leave deposits on the sight
glass. In no case remove lime deposits from the sight glass by using
vinegar or corrosive agents (advice: use a lime dissolving agent which
does not attack brass or solder). Finally, dry the model using a clean cloth.
Warranty:
14. All WILESCO Steam Engines are carefully checked before leaving the
factory. However, if a problem arises, we help out or repair the model. You
can return your model either through your distributor or directly to us. We
are sure you will understand that already fired or used models cannot
be exchanged for new ones. The most frequent claims are leaking boilers.
The solder will be destroyed if there is not enough water in the boiler. In
such cases, the solder liquefies drop-shaped and the boiler becomes
leaking. This is an obvious proof that the boiler was fired without enough
water. Please watch always and carefully the water level, because
heating without enough water excludes any warranty claim.
It is possible to fix a cable remote control onto the steering wheel (item no.
00361) Please order through your retailer.
