Installation Instructions

Electrical Service

n
All wiring must conform to local, state and national
codes.

VOLTAGE

The maximum allowable voltage variation is ±10% of the
rated voltage at ice machine start-up (when the electrical
load is highest).
n
The ice machine must be grounded in accordance with
national and local electrical codes.
All electrical work, including wire routing and grounding,
must conform to local, state and national electrical codes.
The following precautions must be observed:
The ice machine must be grounded.
A separate fuse/circuit breaker must be provided for
each ice machine.
A qualified electrician must determine proper wire size
dependent upon location, materials used and length
of run (minimum circuit ampacity can be used to help
select the wire size).
The maximum allowable voltage variation is +/-10 of
the rated voltage at ice machine start-up (when the
electrical load is highest).
Check all ground screws in the control box and verify
they are tight before starting the ice machine.

Important
Observe correct polarity of incoming line voltage.
Incorrect polarity can lead to erratic ice machine
operation.

FUSE/CIRCUIT BREAKER

A dedicated circuit and a separate fuse/circuit breaker are
required for each ice machine.

GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER

We do not recommend the use of a GFCI/GFI circuit
protection with our equipment. If a GFCI/GFI is required
by code, use a GFCI/GFI breaker rather than outlet which is
more prone to intermittent nuisance trips than panel circuit
breakers.

MINIMUM POWER CORD SPECIFICATIONS

The wire size to the receptacle is dependent upon location,
materials used, length of run, etc., so it must be determined
by a qualified electrician. Local, state or national
requirements will supersede our minimum requirements.

FOR UNITED KINGDOM ONLY

As the colors of the wires in the mains lead of the
appliance may not correspond with the colored markings
identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is colored green and yellow must be
connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked
with the letter E or by the earth ground symbol
colored green or green and yellow.
The wire colored blue must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter N or colored
black.
The wire colored brown must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter L or colored
red.
