First use the hotkey to move the arrow to mark the process you wish to use, then hold it
pressed in for at least two seconds in order to start that process. The entire course of
events, the text and graphic displays and the conclusion of the process are all exactly the
same as those for a charge or discharge process or a charge / discharge cycle with one
of the ten memories. Please read the information in Chapters 6.2, 7. and 7.1 in the sec-
tion starting on page 16.

10.1 READING OUT THE DATA ON A BID CHIP

When the process is complete, press the 'ESC' button to return to the 'BID system' dis-
play. Here you will see the charged-in or discharged capacity of the process just conclu-
ded. The screen also shows the maximum values for capacity (charged-in or discharged)
which have been obtained previously.

An analysis of our example shows the following:
The battery was first used on 05 May 2006.
To date the battery has been charged three times by the charger.
During the last charge process the battery accepted a capacity of 798 mAh.
The maximum charged-in capacity until now was 831 mAh
11. CHARGE OUTPUT 2 / OUT 2
The Infinity 3 charger also features a second charge output (OUT 2) which is designed to
provide efficient charging of NiCd and NiMH batteries, transmitter and receiver packs and
glowplug energizer batteries. Output 2 can charge batteries of these two types consisting
of 1 ... 8 cells and with a capacity of up to 9.9 Ah; the charge rate is variable, with a maxi-
mum of 2.0 A. Both charge outputs can be operated in parallel (simultaneously).

11.1 PROGRAMMING CHARGE OUTPUT 2

In contrast to the facilities for Output 1 (OUT 1), relatively few charge parameters can be
varied for this charge output. When a battery is connected to Output 2, the charger auto-
matically calculates the cell count and the battery voltage. In fact, virtually the only pro-
grammable parameter is the charge current, which can be varied within the range 0.1 A
to 2.0 A; alternatively you can set the charger to automatic charge current setting (AUTO).
Output 2 does not respond if a BID chip is connected.
Operating Instructions
POWER PEAK Infinity 3
The screen shot printed here shows a typical display of
this type, which enables you to analyse the current state
of the battery, and judge how it is performing in relation to
its previous history. No additional equipment is required
3 3
for this, such as a PC and appropriate software.
