When you have finished the check, and if
your electrical panel is equipped with an Off-
peak hours (low night rate) servocontrol
relay, put the switch to the " automatic " posi-
tion.
For models with " impressed current anode ", check the green light located on the electronic
cover about 15 minutes after powering up the water heater.
- Under steady state conditions, the ACI pilot light must flash continuously (24 h./24).
The water heater equipped with an immersion element can make a slight noise like a boiler while
heating, depending on the water quality. This noise is normal and does not mean that anything
is wrong with your heater.
Domestic maintenance
The user needs to perform very little mainte-
nance on a water heater in the home : sim-
ply operating the safety valve once or twice
every month.
Maintenance by a professional
It is recommended that you should have your equipment checked by
a professional every two years using to the following procedure.
Your water heater will then maintnain its performance for many years.
Switch Off the electricity power supply to
the heater (fuses) and disconnect the wires to
the thermostat terminals.
Drain the tank and disassemble the hea-
ting assembly.
Remove any deposits in the form of sludge
or scale in the bottom of the tank and clean
the ducts of the heating elements and the
thermostat. Do not scrape or tap scale stuck
to the walls, since this could damage the
coating.
Check the condition of the magnesium
anode and replace it if its diameter is less
than 10 mm.
On shielded horizontal wall-mounted water
heaters, the anode is located on the base
door.
Clean the sheath on models with a ceramic
element as scale may have formed.
You will see 3 positions in this switch :
- Off or " 0 " position.
- Automatic or " AUTO " position.
- Forced operation or " 1 " position.
NOTE
On water heaters with impressed current
anode (ACI VISIO) periodically check that the
light is flashing.
Call your advisor-installer if it stops flashing.
For water heaters with an " impressed cur-
rent anode ", the anode is made of titanium
and no inspection or replacement is neces-
sary provided that the light continues flas-
hing.
Reassemble the heating assembly using a
new seal, and tighten the nuts moderately
and gradually (crosswise).
Fill the water heater leaving a hot water
tap open ; the water inlet indicates that the
water heater is full.
Check that it is tight at the seal and then
and only reconnect the electricity power
supply.
Check again the next day to make sure that
the seal is not leaking, and retighten the
nuts again slightly if necessary.
Check the electrical connections.
User recommendations
In regions in which the water is very hard
(Th>20°F), the use of a softener does not
make our guarantee null and void provided
that it is adjusted in accordance with stan-
dard practice, and that it is regularly chec-
ked and maintained.
- Decree No. 89-3, 3/1/1989 Th 15°F min.
- Conformity with national plumbing regula-
tion
Under these special conditions, the anode
should be inspected every year.
You should drain your water heater in the
following cases :
- if the heater is to be left switched
off
in a room subject to frost
- if the water heater electrical
power
supply is switched off for
more than
two months.
Proceed as follows :
After sales service
The following water heater parts can be replaced :
the door seal
the thermostat
heating elements
the magnesium anode
the electronic generator with its wiring,
for " impressed current anode " models
sleeve for ceramic resistance
Please call us for special parts.
Only use spare parts referenced by ATLANTIC.
Whenever you order parts, specify the exact type of the water heater, its capacity,
the equipment type (TC or single phase, immersion or ceramic), and the date of manufacture.
All this information is printed on the heater rating plate glued close to the electrical switch.
Any work on electrical parts must be done by a specialist.
a) switch the electricity power supply off
b) close the cold water inlet tap
c) open a hot water tap
d) open the safety valve drain tap.
Switch the electricity power supply off and
inform your installer if there is a problem (no
heating or steam escapes when the valve is
open).
Note that the water storage temperature
used to be 80°C.
It is now only 65°C + 5 in the tank
(European standards), for safety reasons.
Consequently, the amount of hot water
available with the same capacity heater is
smaller.
If regulations impose a maximum tem-
perature of 60°C at taps, you should
provide a means of adjustment (mixer,
tap mixer, etc.). Call your installer.
