3. If the mower is used in very dirty and dusty conditions,
change the oil more frequently.
4. For further information we recommend that you consult
the manual supplied by the engine manufacturer.
Filling the fuel tank (fig. 2)
1. Clean around the tank cap.
2. Take the cap off and fill the tank up to about 15 mm from
the top with clean petrol.
3. Replace cap and clean any spillage.
ATTENTION:
1. Always handle fuel with maximum care.
2. Refuel outdoors using a clean funnel to prevent spilling.
Wipe up any spilled petrol.
3. Refuel only after turning the engine off and when engine
is cold. Do not fill beyond 15 mm from top of fuel tank as fuel
expands when hot.
4. When filling tank, keep far away from open flames and
sparks and DO NOTsmoke!
5. Do not mix oil with gasoline. (See engine manual for fur-
ther informations on oil and fuel).
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Your lawnmower is equipped with a safety device
(System 2) which kills the engine and stops the cutting blade
whenever the operator lets go of the handle.
ATTENTION: Never leave the mower unattended.
1. Place mower on the lawn, possibly on a flat surtace.
2. Check the height of the grass and adjust the height of cut
accordingly.
3. Cutting height adjustment (fig. 1-5). This must be done
when engine is off.
a) Six settings are available.
b) For easier adjustment, lift the housing up so that the wheel
does not touch the ground.
c) Squeeze adjustment lever towards the wheel and move to
the desired setting (fig. 3).
d) Ensure the lever slots firmly into the chosen notch.
e) Adjust all wheels to the same setting.
4. Move the throttle lever (fig. 1-4) to the
5. Squeeze the System 2 lever towards the handle, slowly pull
starter handle until cord is stretched tight and then pull
hard to start the engine (fig. 4).
6. Squeeze the traction lever towards the handles and the
mower will start moving forward and cut the grass (fig. 5).
7. To stop the traction or to pull the mower backwards, let go
of the traction lever.

DURING OPERATION

Keep people and animals away from the cutting area (fig. 6).
Before operation, clear the cutting area of all foreign objects.
Operate only with either bag or protections in position (fig. 6).
Keep hands and feet away from the chute door and the blades
under the deck (fig. 7).
The grass clippings may be collected in the grassbag or dis-
charged on the lawn.
The grassbag material is capable of stopping most forms of
debris (stones, gravel, etc.) which could be thrown out by the
blade. lt is essential that the grassbag is checked periodically
for damage or wear, in which case it should be replaced Im-
mediately with an original IBEA grassbag.
While operating with your lawnmower, it may happen that the
cutting blade collides with a solid object with the consequent
breakage of blade bushing pins (fig. 8). The mower could then
start to vibrate abnormally.
In order to avoid severe damages to your lawnmower, im-
mediately stop the engine when the above mentioned situa-
tion takes place. Wait until the moving parts have completely
stopped, disconnect the high tension wire from the spark plug
and replace the blade bushing.
Leaf collection
Your mower may also be used to collect leaves:
1. The grassbag must be correctly mounted
2. The height of cut must be adjusted to the same height, or
slightly above than the layer of leaves.
The blade will create an air vacuum which lifts the leaves and
sucks them into the grassbag.
ATTENTION: Never service or repair the mower until the
blade and engine have stopped and you have disconnected
the high tension wire from the spark plug.
Crankcase oil change
1. Place the mower on a flat surface.
2. Start the engine and let it run for about a minute so that oil
flows better. Turn off engine.
3. Disconnect the high tension wire from the spark plug.
4. Remove the grassbag.
5. Drain the fuel tank in order to avoid possible spillage and
acci-dents.
6. Tip mower on its right side and unscrew the drainage plug
under the engine. Empty the crankcase, allowing the oil to
flow into a suitable tray.
7. When the crankcase is completely empty, screw the drain-
age pulg back on again and fill the crankcase with clean
SAE 30 oil (0,6 l).
NOTE: Please refer to local regulations for correct disposal of
position.
burnt engine oil.
Drainage of the fuel tank
1. Stop the engine and disconnect the high tension wire from
sparkplug.
2. Unscrew the fuel tank cap.
3. Using a siphon, pump the petrol from the tank into a suit-
able container.
Adjusting the throttle cable
1. Make sure that the engine is off and cold and that the high
tension wire is diconnected from the spark plug.
2. Move the throttle lever to the
3. Loosen the screw which fastens the cable plate to the en-
gine until the cable comes free (fig. 9).
4. Pull the throttle cable as far as it will go towards the rear of
the engine.
