Le format de ce ma nuel a é té conçu p our rendre les p rocédures d'entretien claires et faciles à comprendre.
Utilisez les informations qui suivent comme guide pour un entretien efficace et de qualité.
• Les pièces sont illustrées et détaillé es dans une vue éc latée et sont ré pertoriées dans la liste des compo-
sants (voir a sur l'illustration ci-dessous pour un exemple de page).
• Cette liste comprend le nom des pièces, la quantité, ainsi que les dimensions des boulons et des vis (voir b
sur l'illustration ci-dessous).
• Des symboles sont utilisés pour indiquer cer tains aspects importants d'une procédure, tels que la qualité
d'un lubrifiant et un point de lubrification (voir c sur l'illustration ci-dessous).
• Les spécifications de couple de serrage sont fournies dans les vues éclatées (voir d sur l'illustration ci-des-
sous pour un exemple) et dans les instructions détaillées correspondantes. Certaines spécifications de cou-
ple sont énumérées par étape (valeurs de couple) ou par angle (degrés).
• Des procédures et des illustr ations distinctes sont utilisées pour expliquer en détails la dépose, le contrôle
et l'installation chaque fois que c ela est néc essaire (voir e sur l'illus tration ci-après pour un e xemple de
page).

TIP:
• Install a new needle bearing with the identi-
fication mar k b f acing to ward the w ater
pump side.
When using the driver rod, do not strike the
special ser vice too l in a manne r t hat will
force the stopper c out of place.
5. Heat the installation area of the taper
roller bearing outer race in the lower case
with a gas torch, and then install the drive
shaft slee ve i, or iginal shim(s) (T3) j
and a new taper roller bearing outer race
k. NOTICE: When heating th e lo wer
case, hea t the entire installation a rea
evenly. Otherwise , the paint o n th e
lower case could be burned.

Install the drive shaft sleeve with the protru-
sion d facing forward.

Do not reuse a shim if def ormed or
scratched.

6. While holding the special service tool c,
strike the tool to check tha t the taper
roller b earing out er r ace is installed
properly. If a high-pitched metallic sound

is produced when the special service tool
is str uck, the outer race is installed
properly.
