2 Description
2.1 Indications for use
The Ottobock 10A71=* and 10A81=* MovoHooks 2Grip are to be used
exclusively for exoprosthetic fitting of amputation of the upper limb.
2.2 Field of application
The Ottobock MovoHooks 2Grip are designed for the fabrication of a
cable-controlled arm prosthesis. For heavy-duty applications, Ottobock
recommends the models made of stainless steel. The cable-activated hooks
made of light metal are suitable for light to moderate use.
2.3 Safety instructions
Please make your patients aware of the following safety instructions:
WARNING
Risk of accident when driving a motor vehicle. An upper extremity
amputee's ability to drive a vehicle is determined on a case-by-case
basis. Factors include the type of fitting (amputation level, unilateral
or bilateral, residual limb conditions, design of the prosthesis) and the
amputee's abilities.
All persons are required to observe their country's national and state
driving laws when operating motor vehicles. For insurance purposes,
drivers should have their driving ability examined and approved by an
authorised test centre.
In general, Ottobock recommends that vehicles should be professionally
retrofitted to meet each user's individual needs (e. g. steering fork, au-
tomatic transmission...). Risk-free driving should be ensured even when
the prosthesis is not functioning.
CAUTION
Use caution when handling the cable-activated hooks. The hooks
have sharp contours. Unskilful use can cause injuries to the user or
other persons.
