use the unit with wet or damp hands or feet.

circumstance, the cover from the switchboard.

Warning: The refrigeration system does not cause any chemical alterations to the nature of the water produced by the
defrosting cycle. This water comes only from the vapour contained in the air circulating inside the system. However, the
water produced by the system must be removed via the drainage system or using water conditioning systems that comply
with the laws in force.

and the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage that may be caused owing to an improper, incorrect or
unreasonable use of the unit.

9 – Defrosting of the unit and evaporation of the condensation water
The defrosting cycle, essential for the correct operation of the refrigeration unit, is operated by the electronic control which
allows the evaporator to free itself of any ice that may have built up. Such process is realised by stopping the compressor
temporarily (both in the BT and TN versions). In addition to that, armoured resistances located on the evaporator (always
present in the BT versions, while they are an accessory in the TN versions) make the defrosting process faster. The
number of defrosting cycles (standard setting of 3 defrosting cycles in 24 hours) is set in the factory, for both the BT and
the TN models.
The operation of the automatic defrosting cycle has to be checked periodically and, in the event of faulty operation, call a
qualified technician.
The plug-in islands are fitted with an automatic evaporation system of the water, it is good practice to check the level of
the water in the evaporating basin located near the motor compartment at least once a month (this operation must be
carried-out with the cabinet switched-off).
Warning: Any adjustments or alterations must be realised by technical assistance staff only.

10 – Cleaning the unit
Warning: Before cleaning the unit, always cut off the electric power supply.
Clean the unit periodically using neutral detergents and dry it using soft cloth. Do not use inflammable or abrasive
products and do not clean the unit with direct jets of water. The bottom trays, the adjustable racks, the delivery and intake
openings and the water drip pans should also be cleaned every so often. When cleaning the inside of the unit, wear
protective gloves to prevent the skin from being into direct contact with the cold parts.
Warning: Turn the unit on again only when it has been ascertained that all the parts are dry (those that have been
removed and those that have not). Reload the unit following the instructions given in Topic 7.
11 – Unit maintenance
Warning: All the operations described in this paragraph must be performed by qualified staff.
Warning: Before proceeding with the maintenance operations, cut off the electric power supply.
Warning: Other maintenance operations, (not described herein) including replacement of lamps with lamps of the same
model, have to be commissioned to authorised centres of assistance or qualified personnel.
The condenser must be cleaned every month by removing the protective grating at the back (Page 5, Fig. 14). Use a hard
bristle brush (not metal) or better a vacuum cleaner, remove any dust or residue that may have built up between the flaps,
taking care not to damage them. When cleaning the condenser, use gloves to prevent hands cutting. When completed
the cleaning operations, replace the protective grating previously removed. The condenser left dirty for long periods of
time, leads to increased energy consumption and a poor performance of the unit.
In the TN versions (for which the armoured defrosting resistance is an accessory), ice may build up on the evaporator
after a long period of operation, preventing it from operating correctly. A general cleaning operation must be performed on
the island at least every three months, therefore the power supply should be cut off and the unit should be completely
emptied. Wait until the ice formed on the flaps has melted completely, then clean the evaporator using a soft bristle brush.
Gloves must be worn to protect the hands from being cut. (Before starting-up the unit, check that the internal parts inside
the basin are completely dry). The manufacturer recommends that a general control is carried out once a year by a
refrigerator technician or by an expert.
