Functions and operation of the TX1 training computer
can lead to errors. The PULSE display requires approx. 5 to 15
seconds to display your actual pulse. The treadmill also has a
built-in, polar-compatible heart rate receiver. In order to be able
to use the wireless pulse system, you must wear a chest belt for
transmitting the heart rate. The chest belt for transmitting the
heart rate does not come included with this treadmill.
We recommend the POLAR T34 chest belt. This is available as
an accessory from specialised retailers.
Please note that some materials used in your clothing (e.g.
polyester, polyamide) create static charges and could possibly
prevent reliable heart rate measurement. Also note that mobile
telephones, televisions and other electronic devices that create
an electromagnetic field around them can also cause problems
with the heart rate measurement.

Operation
- SWITCHING ON
First switch the unit on. The ON/OFF switch for the treadmill is
beside the power cord on the back of the motor cover. Flip this
switch to the "ON" position.
- SAFETY KEY
Check whether the safety key is secured to the treadmill and the
clip to the user's clothing. The safety key was developed to
interrupt the power supply if you should fall. The safety key was
therefore developed so as to bring the treadmill to an immedia-
te standstill. The safety key has been developed to interrupt the
power supply should you stumble or trip, so that the treadmill
stops instantly. With high speeds the immediate stopping of the
treadmill can be unpleasant and even dangerous Therefore,
only ever use the safety key for an emergency stop! In order to
bring the treadmill to a comfortable and complete standstill
under normal conditions during training, use the STOP button. If
the safety key is not inserted in the treadmill, the display will
show "Err 3".
- GETTING ON AND OFF THE TREADMILL
Be careful when getting on or off the treadmill. Try to use the
handle bars when getting on or off. Do not stand on the tread-
mill while preparing to use it. Spread your feet out and stand
on the two side platforms beside the tread. Only place your feet
on the tread once it has begun to move at constant speed. For
your own safety, only get onto the treadmill when the speed is
no greater than 2 km/h.
Always keep your body and head facing forward while trai-
ning. Never try to turn on the treadmill while the tread is still
moving. When you have finished training, stop the treadmill by
pressing the STOP button. Wait until the treadmill has come to a
complete standstill before attempting to get off the treadmill.
If you feel uneasy with the speed or if you are not sure how to
stop the unit, hold tightly onto the handlebars, lift your feet off
the treadmill and place them on the side platforms beside the
tread. The side platforms are a suitable place for resting before
you recommence training. Always remember, for your own safe-
ty and comfort, to begin at a low speed.
