Cleaning

After each use, wipe any oil or dirt off the
MegaPress Press-In Branch Connector In-
stallation Kit with a clean, dry, soft cloth.
Pay special attention to the guide tube to re-
move any dirt or debris that could scratch
polished parts.

Lubrication

Monthly or more often if needed, apply a
light machine oil to points of relative motion.
Wipe off any excess lubricant.

Replacing the Hole Saw

If the cutting edges are dull, worn or chipped,
the hole saw will need to be changed. In-
creased cutting time is an indication of hole
saw wear. Only use RIDGID catalog #52795
M27 hole saws.
1. Hold the guide carriage body with a 14
mm wrench.
2. Loosen and remove the hole saw. (See
Figure 15.)

3. Place a small amount of anti-seize
grease on the threads and re-install a
new hole saw. Securely tighten.

Replacing the Pilot Drill

Change the pilot drill if the cutting edges are
dull, worn or chipped. Increased cutting time
is an indication of drill wear. Use care when
handling drills. Do not operate arbor shaft
without a pilot drill. Do not sharpen and
reuse pilot drills. Only use RIDGID catalog
#53085 pilot drill.
1. Loosen the pilot drill set screw with a 4
mm hex key.
2. Remove pilot drill.
3. Insert the new pilot drill into the shaft so
that the tip extends
past the edge of the hole saw, aligning
the flat on the shaft of the drill with the set
screw (Figure 16) .

4. Securely tighten the set screw onto the
drill flat.

Replacing the Hex Shaft

1. Hold the drill body with a 14 mm wrench.
2. Loosen and remove the Hex Shaft with
an 5 / " wrench (Figure 17) .
