Purpose
JuzoFlex Manu Xtra provides anatomical guidance for
the affected wrist, thus relieving it during movement.
The adjustable plastic rod and the textile strap provide
mechanical stabilisation. Medical compressive active
supports have a proprioceptive effect. They improve
self-perception and can compensate for muscle imbal-
ances. They reduce pain, support the removal of fluids
from the tissue, thanks to their rheological effect, and
provide relief during movement.
Here is how to put on your
JuzoFlex Manu Xtra correctly:
1. Open the velcro strap and slide your hand into the
wrist support until the stabilising splint lies on the
inner surface of your hand. Put your thumb through
the opening provided.
2. Position the wrist support in such a way that the ring-
shaped depression in the pressure pad encloses the
wrist bone without pressure.
3. Now close the velcro strap with sufficient tightness so
that you feel an additional stabilisation of your wrist.
The correct fit of the wrist support is assured when it
encloses the wrist tightly but does not apply a too strong
(painful) pressure to the wrist.
The wrist support can be readjusted at any time by
repeating steps 2 and 3 above.
Rough, unfiled nails or sharp-edged rings etc. may
damage the very fine knitted fabric.
Please note:
Only wear your wrist support when prescribed by your
physician. Medical aids should only be dispensed by
suitably trained staff of a medical products supplier. The
effectiveness of the wrist support can only be realised
if it is applied correctly. Although your support is largely
resistant to oils, ointments, skin moisture and other
environmental influences, the fabric and the pressure
pad can be adversely affected by certain combinations
of these factors. We therefore recommend that it gets
examined regularly by the medical products supplier.
Should the product become damaged, please consult
your specialist supplier. Do not repair the wrist support
yourself – this could compromise its quality and medical
efficacy. For hygienic reasons, the wrist support is not
suitable for treating more than one patient. The sewn-in
textile label is important for the identification and tracea-
bility of the product. We therefore ask you not to remove
the label under any circumstances.
Washing and care instructions
Please note the care instructions on the textile label.
Please take the stabilising splint out of the wrist support
and remove the strap. Do up the fasteners before wash-
ing! Wash the supports separately the first time (colour
may run). Your support should be washed every day on
a gentle or delicate wash cycle (30 °C). Tip: a laundry
net provides additional protection for the knitted fabric.
Please do not use fabric softener! When hand washing,
rinse well and do not wring. We recommend the gentle
Juzo special detergent. You can reduce drying time by
placing the support on a thick towel after washing, tightly
rolling the towel up and firmly pressing out excess mois-
ture. Then hang the support up loosely. Do not leave the
product in the towel and do not dry it on a radiator or in
the sun. Juzo supports are not suitable for dry cleaning.
The support is not suitable for tumble drying. The
removed stabilising splint can be cleaned with a damp
cloth. Then slide it back into the pocket provided for it
when the support is completely dry (with the bent spoon
in front – the open side of the hollow section faces away
from the hand surface). Finally velcro the strap onto the
wrist support and it is ready for use again.
Material used
Details are provided on the label sewn into your wrist
support.
Notes for the orthopaedic technician
