PUTTING INTO OPERATION

Assemble the guide bar and saw chain in accordance with
the chain saw's instruction manual. The same applies to
fueling.
When working in non-wood materials, the resulting
increased wear to the rivet joints will cause extreme
stretching of the RescueCut saw chain.
Therefore, check the chain tension frequently (see the
instruction manual of the chain saw).
Depth limiter
The available depth limiter prevents excessive penetration when
cutting thin materials where the operator does not know what
is underneath or behind. Ask your dealer for the order number
of the depth limiter.
The depth limiter consists of 4 pieces:
2 discs (100 mm dia.)
1 pin
1 cotter pin
Guide bars
Guide bars with holes for mounting a depth limiter are available.
Ask you dealer for the part number.
Existing guide bars can be adapted for use with the depth limiter
by drilling 14.2 mm holes. The number and position of the holes
(Sketch A) can vary depending on the intended use. Guide
bars are made of very hard metal. Holes should be drilled
only at a specialist shop!

Installing the depth limiter

CAUTION:
Before doing any work on the chain saw,
always switch off the engine and pull the
plug cap off the spark plug (see "Instruction
manual"). Always wear protective gloves!

- Insert pin (1) into disc (2) and insert in the desired hole, put
on the opposite disc (3) and secure with cotter pin (4). To
remove, proceed in reverse order.

Setting the cut depth

Shallow angle - shallow cut
Steep angle - deep cut

- The possible cut depth will depend on the position of the
hole in the guide bar.
38 cm guide bars can have up to 3 holes.
45 cm guide bars can have up to 3 holes.
