Operation

Starting the welding process

• Mount the relevant welding shoe (8) if necessary
• Set the potentiometer (3) to max.
• When the device reaches the operating temperature (Ready* status), it is ready to start welding
• Press on/off switch for drive (2)
• Insert the welding rod with a diameter of 4 or 5 mm into the welding rod insertion point (12)
• The welding rod is automatically drawn through the welding rod insertion point (12). There must be
no resistance when the rod is inserted
CAUTION!
Never feed the welding rod into both welding rod insertion points at the same time.
Always operate the device with a welding rod.
• Pause the delivery of material using the on/off switch for drive (2)
• Direct the pre-heating nozzle (9) onto the area to be welded
• Pre-heat the area to be welded with oscillating movements
• Place the device on the prepared welding area and press the on/off switch for drive (2) again
• Carry out test welds according to the welding instructions from the material manufacturer and
the national standards or directives
• Check the test weld
• Adjust the temperature setting and output volume as necessary
• During a longer period of welding, the on/off switch for drive (2) can be kept in continuous operation
using the drive locking device (4)

Switching off the device

• Loosen the drive locking device (4) and release the on/off switch for drive (2).
Remove the welding material from the welding shoe so the welding shoe is not damaged
the next time the device is started
• Switch off the heating with the Enter key (26)
• Let the device cool down completely
• Switch off the main switch (1)
