If you desire to use the ventilation feature, the
connection of the gas supply (i.e. hose and regula-
tor) to the fuel source is not needed.

Safety Lock-Out

CI500 / CI750
This heater is equipped with interlocking safety
devices. In the event of a failure while the burner is
in operation, or if the burner air supply is obstructed,
the burner will "lock-out". If this happens, the reset
button on the burner controller will illuminate to
RED.
TO RESET THE CONTROL BOX
Push and hold the reset button on the burner status
button for 1 to 2 seconds.
RESET BUTTON
The burner will restart after a 5 second pause once
the button is released.
DIAGNOSTICS MODE
The controller features diagnostics which identifies
the cause of malfunction in the heater.
To use the feature, wait at least 10 seconds once
the heater has entered lock-out mode (steady RED
light). Press and hold the reset button for more
than 3 seconds or until a yellow light pulses to
inform you the operation is completed. Release the
button and a red light will pulse a number of times
to identify the malfunction that occurred. Refer to
the troubleshooting section for further information.
■ DO NOT leave the heater in diagnostic mode

once diagnosis has been determined. The blower
motor will restart after 90 seconds and will remain
ON until power is removed.
■ The controller has only one ignition trial. If ignition
is not achieved, the ignition burner control will enter
"lock-out" mode.
■ It is normal for air to be trapped in gas hose on new
installations. The heater may require several trials
for ignition before air is finally purged from line and
ignition takes place.
CI230
The GeniSys control has 3 LED lights that will help
provide status and diagnostic information. The three
LEDs are Status, Flame, and MV (main valve). The
LEDs uses 4 modes; On, Off, Slow Flash, or Fast
Flash.
• Flame (yellow) = flame sense or flame strength.
• MV (green) = gas valve On/Off
• Status/Reset (red) =Normal/Lockout
During Lockout, the red status LED on the GeniSys
will flash 3 times per second. To reset the GeniSys
control, push and release the status LED.

Shut-Down Instructions

If the heater is to be shut down for cleaning, mainte-
nance, or repair, follow steps 1-6. Otherwise, simply
adjust thermostat to "Off" or "No Heat" or T stat switch
for thermostat only for standard shut-down.
1. Close the gas supply valve located on the gas sup-
ply container / sources.
2. Allow the heater to burn off any fuel gas remaining
in the gas supply line.
3. Set the thermostat to "Off" or the selector switch to
the midpoint position O.
4. Allow the heater to perform its post purge (cool
