Foreman Ductable Dual Fuel Indirect-Fired Heater

Duct Installation

This heater may be ducted using the approved L.B.
White distribution devices.
• 12 in. / 30.48 cm dia. x 25 ft. / 7.62 m duct per heater
outlet. L.B. White part # 500-30052, duct adapter not
required.
• (CI500 / CI750), 16 in. / 40.64 cm dia. x 25 ft. / 7.62
duct kit, L.B. White part# 500-30076. A duct adapter
part # 500-30902 is required.
• Substitute ductwork material is acceptable but must
conform to the following requirements:
1. Duct must have a minimum material temperature of
300°F/149°C
2. Ducting up to 100 ft. / 30.48 m can be connected to
the heater as long as the static pressure does not
exceed the static limit. See table below for details.
Increase static pressure will reduce flow rate and
can cause the high temperature limits to shut the
heater down. Bends and kinks in the duct, or duct
collapse are all likely to increase static pressure.
Model
Max. Static Pressure
CI230
1 in. w.c. / 0.25 kPa
CI500 / CI750
2.5 in. w.c. / 0.62 kPa
-- Locate the duct under suitable wind barrier materials
for jobsite requirements.
3. Alternate 12" duct can be used from the following
manufacturer's:
- Artic Helix - Norseman
- Artic Econorush - Norseman
- Hitex Series - NTI Global
- Ventflex Series - NTI Global
NOTE:
■ When using the ducting, ensure that bends in ducts
are kept to a minimum. A maximum of two 90°
bends is allowed.
■ Reducing the number of bends will ensure that the
warm air exiting the heater flows freely, thereby pre-
venting overheating. If there are excessive bends,
the high limit switches may open.

OPTIONAL:
An air recirculating duct kit with a maximum duct length of
25 ft. / 7.62m may be attached to the heater supply air inlet.
CI230
16 in. / 40.6 cm Dia. x 25 ft. / 7.62 m.
CI500/750 20 in. / 50.8 cm Dia. x 25 ft. / 7.62 m.

Gas Hose and Regulator

NOTE: The gas hose and regulator are not shipped
with the heater. They are optional accessory and must be
ordered separately.
PROPANE HEATERS
Twin stage regulator: 500-25141
Minimum diameter of gas hose for 15' length
CI230 / CI500: 3/4 inch, 500-25965
CI750: 1 inch, 500-132047
1. Lift the tank's cover.
2. Assemble bushing, pigtail connector and regula-
tor as shown. Tighten connections securely.
3. Carefully form the connector to ensure the regulator will
be supported by the tank, and the tank valve cover will
protect the regulator from weather conditions.
4. Thread connector's POL fitting counter-clockwise into the
tank valve. Tighten securely.
5. Open the tank valve.
6. Check all connections with an approved leak detector.
Close the tank's cover.
7. When storing or transporting the heater, ensure the con-
nector's fitting is protected from damage and dirt entry.
NATURAL GAS HEATERS
--- A regulator should be used if the supply pressure to the
heater is above the maximum inlet pressure of 13.5 in.
W .C. (3.36 kPa). See table below for details.
---- Connect a regulator to the natural gas supply line using
the proper plumbing devices.
