• Locate the quick-lock (A) on your chain, clean the area
around the quick-lock, hold the chain-links left and right of
the quick-lock firmly and push them against each other
(Fig.7.12).
• Insert the chain extension, re-assemble the quick-locks (A)
on both sides and close them by pulling them apart (Fig.7.13)
The tension of the chain is correct when it can be tensioned
manually in the middle of the chain by approx. 10mm. (Fig.7.14)
On the Attitude manual or Hybrid with 10/30 derailleur gears,
the derailleur functions as chain tensioner and can compensate
a certain range of adjustment. However, chain tension must
never be too tight.
To check chain tension, shift the derailleur in the highest
position (chain on the largest sprocket) and check tension: The
tension of the chain is correct when it can be tensioned
manually in the middle by approx. 10mm (Fig.7.14).
CAUTION:
• Always tighten the allen screws to the correct torque. Over-
or undertorquing the allen screws might result in failure of the
handbike frame.
• Adjusting the angle and/or the depth has an impact on the
tension of the chain. Please check chain-tension and extend
or shorten the chain if necessary (additional chain-links
included in delivery).
Length-adjustment of the cranks (Attitude Junior
only)
The cranks of the Attitude Junior can be adjusted in length to
suit the users arm-length.
To change the position of the handles on the cranks, the
handles need to be removed from the cranks using a spanner.
Mind that there is a right-handed thread on the right-hand side
crank, left-handed thread on the left-hand side crank. Unscrew
the handles counter-clockwise on the right-handed crank but
clockwise on the left-hand crank.
Position the handles in the desired position and tighten them
with a torque of 35Nm.
