b ) To access the hour meter function, press the
button (item 4) indicated in Figure A and the
display will show the number of the machine
service hours. Press the button again to display
the number of the machine service minutes.
c ) If an electronic circuit malfunctions, the display
indicates a safety code that corresponds to the
type of fault and the machine stops. (See
TROUBLESHOOTING section for the safety code
table).
Start the main broom (and the fan) using the fan
broom button (item 5) shown in Figure A . Note, the
light to the left of the button turns on indicating
that the brush is operating.
Press the button again to deactivate the main
broom.
Note : starting/ stopping the main brush will also
start/ stop the dust control fan and the side
brush(es).
USE
To activate the side broom(s), lower the left or right
or both levers depending on the kind of work to be
done. The broom will begin operating as the lever
is lowered. (Fig. 5)
Note : the side broom(s) operate only if the main
broom is operating.
Check that the dust control is enabled by moving
the dust control lever to the up position (item 15 in
Fig. A) .
Note : If the machine must be used on a wet surface,
protect the dust control filter by turning the dust
control fan off. (item 15 in Fig. A)
To move the machine forward or backward push
the accelerator paddle (item 2 in Fig. A) forward or
backward.
The speed can be adjusted from 0 to the maximum
setting depending to the pressure applied to the
accelerator paddle.
To stop the machine, release the accelerator paddle
and allow it to return to its neutral position.
It is possible to reduce the maximum forward speed
of the machine by setting the speed selector switch
to the "turtle" symbol: Set the switch (item 11 in
Fig. A) to the "hare" symbol for a faster speed as
required.
Turn on the front light, if necessary, using the
button (item 7) indicated in the Figure A .
To stop the machine rapidly, press the brake pedal
(item 13 in Fig. A) .
The right pedal can also be used as parking brake.
Press both brake pedal (items 12 and 13 in Fig. A)
controls until they are locked in the lowered
position.
To release the pedal, press only the brake lock
pedal (item 13) shown in the figure A .
Note : this machine is supplied with an emergency
stop button (item 1 in Fig. A). By pushing it, all
machine functions and the drive motor stop.To
reactivate the machine, turn the button clockwise
as shown by the arrow on the button.
To collect light and bulky waste materials, raise the
flap momentarily using the front flap pedal. (item
10 in Fig. A)
Note: do not press the front flap pedal down for a
long time.
For efficient dust control, the filter must always be
clean.
To clean the filter, follow the instructions described
below:
Disable the dust control by pressing the dust
control lever (item 15 in Fig. A) to its down position.
Push the filter shake button (item 16 in Fig. A).
Note: the shaker can be operated with the machine
on, provided the dust control function is off.
Repeat this operation every 15-20 minutes ( the
frequency can also be calculated according to the
volume of dust), before emptying the bin and when
finished working.
The bin should be emptied after each work period
and every time the rear bin is full. (Fig. 24)
Note: after working and before leaving the
machine, make sure that the side brushes are raised
off the ground, that the parking brake is engaged
and that the ignition key is in the OFF position.
Note: in case the machine should be moved by
pushing (Fig. 7) check the following points:
verify that the machine is off ignition key turned
counterclockwise item 8 in Fig. A).
Lift the seat cover and deactivate the drive motor
by turning the red key, - counterclockwise (Fig. 6)
and removing the key.
