11. Screw the gas hose and regulator onto the propane bottle (not
included). Do not use a cross thread. Place the propane cylinder in
the lower component (F), secure the cylinder with the strap and
then close the door.

Use only a standard butane or propane gas cylinder. Indoor storage of an appliance
is only permitted if the cylinder is disconnected and removed from the appliance.
Storage of a cylinder must be outdoors in a well-ventilated room out of the reach of
children. Detached cylinders must have permanently installed dust caps and must
not be stored in a building, garage or other enclosed space. The pressure regula-
tor and hose assembly supplied with the unit must be used. The installation must
comply with local regulations or, if there are no local regulations, national fuel gas
regulations.
The cylinder must be equipped with an overfill prevention device as listed.
The cylinder must be equipped with a connection device compatible with the connection for the
device.
The cylinder used must be fitted with a sleeve to protect the cylinder valve.
Never connect an unregulated propane gas cylinder to the heater.
• Do not store a replacement gas cylinder under or near the heater.
• Never fill the cylinder more than 80 percent full.
• Place the dust cap on the outlet of the cylinder valve if the cylinder is not completely filled. in
use. Only install the type of dust cap on the cylinder valve that is supplied with the cylinder
valve. Other types of caps or plugs may cause propane leakage.

4 Operating Instructions

To check for leaks:
1. Make 1 dl of leakage control solution (one part liquid dis-
hwashing detergent and three parts water).
2. Apply several drops of the solution where the regula-
tor is connected to the bottle and to all hose and valve
connections.
3. Make sure that all patio heating and light valves are
turned off.
4. Turn the cylinder valve to ON.
If bubbles appear at any port, there is a leak.

• Perform all leakage tests outdoors.
• Extinguish all open flames.
• NEVER perform leakage tests when
smoking.
• Do not use the heater until all
connections have been checked for
leaks and do not allow the heater
to leak.
