Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air.
Keep the air opening(s) of the cylinder housing free and clear of dirt.
The air flow must be able to flow unhindered. Keep controls, burners and recirculation air
ducts clean.
WARNING
FOR YOUR SAFETY
• DO NOT touch or move the heater for at least 45 minutes after use
• The reflector is hot when touched
• Allow the reflector to cool down before touching it
Spiders and insects can nest in burners or openings. This dangerous condition can damage
the heater and make it unsafe for use. Clean the burner openings. Compressed air can help to
remove small particles.
Carbon deposits can be a fire hazard. If carbon deposits form, clean the dome and burner
screen with warm soapy water.
Note: In a salt-air environment (such as near an ocean) corrosion occurs faster than normal. Check
frequently for corroded areas and repair immediately.
Only use high-quality car wax to protect the housing. Apply to exterior surfaces from the bar
downwards. Do not apply to reflector screen or domes.
Between uses:
Turn the control knob to OFF. Disconnect the gas source.
Store heater upright in an area protected from direct contact with inclement weather (such as
rain, sleet, hail, snow, dust and debris).
If desired, cover the heater to protect the exterior surfaces and prevent accumulation in the
air ducts.
Note: Wait until the heating element has cooled down before covering.
During periods of prolonged inactivity or during transport:
Turn the control knob to OFF.
Disconnect the gas source and move to a safe, well-ventilated outdoor location.
Store the heater upright in an area protected from direct contact with bad weather (such as
rain, sleet, hail, snow, dust and debris).
If desired, cover the heater to protect the exterior surfaces and prevent accumulation in the air
ducts. Never expose gas cylinders to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
Note: Wait until the heating element has cooled down before covering.
